Injection control device
An injection control device executes a current-drive of a fuel injection valve to inject fuel into an engine. The injection control device includes: a drive controller that controls energization by correcting an energization instruction time when injecting the fuel by executing the current-drive of the fuel injection valve; an estimated energization time correction amount calculation unit that calculates an estimated energization time correction amount; and a deterioration determination unit that determines deterioration of the charging capacitor based on a calculated estimated energization time correction amount and the energization time correction amount.

Systems and methods for diagnosing a vehicle engine intake manifold and exhaust system
Methods and systems are provided for pinpointing a source of degradation in a vehicle engine system. In one example, a method includes spinning an engine of a vehicle unfueled in a forward and a reverse direction, in no particular order, and recording a first intake air flow and a second intake air flow, respectively, in an intake of the engine, and where the source of degradation is indicated as a function of both the first air flow and the second air flow. In this way, the degradation of the vehicle engine system may be pinpointed as to being located in the intake manifold, the exhaust system, or the engine.

Computing system with vehicle maintenance mechanism and method of operation thereof
A computing system includes: a control unit is configured to: communicate with a vehicle telematics monitoring system including a statistical database, request an efficiency data, from the vehicle telematics monitoring system, calculate a threshold for the efficiency data, process diagnostic information for a flow, an intake air pressure, an intake air temperature, rotations per minute (RPM), or a combination thereof, calculate an efficiency model based on the diagnostic information; and a communication unit, coupled to the control unit, configured to: communicate a message, when the efficiency model is less than or equal to the threshold, indicating an air filter should be replaced and the message is for displaying on a device.
Method To Estimate The Temperature Of An Electromagnetic Actuator
A method to estimate the temperature of an electromagnetic actuator, which entails a preliminary step in which to define a first threshold value for the current or for the voltage; and define a characteristic curve of the actuator family in the plane temperature/time needed to reach the threshold value; a step in which to carry out a reference measurement, in which, using the characteristic curve, a reference time needed by the electromagnetic actuator to reach the first threshold value is associated with a known reference temperature; and a step in which to carry out a series of measurements in which to determine the time needed by the electromagnetic actuator to reach the first threshold value, calculate the deviation between the time needed by the electromagnetic actuator to reach the first threshold value and the reference time; and determine the temperature of the electromagnetic actuator, using the characteristic curve, by associating the temperature of the electromagnetic actuator with the sum of the deviation and of the reference time.
System and method for controlling opposed piston engine operation for rotation direction
A method for controlling operation of an opposed piston engine is provided, comprising: determining a direction of rotation of the engine; comparing the determined direction of rotation to a correct direction of rotation of the engine; and responding to the determined direction of rotation being different from the correct direction of rotation by taking corrective action.
