Work machine

The first engine speed or a work machine is higher than the minimum engine speed, and the second engine speed is higher than the first engine speed and lower than the maximum engine speed. The ratio of the change in the target engine speed to the change in the operation amount of the engine speed instructing device when the operation amount of the engine speed instructing device is changed from the operation amount for instructing the minimum speed to the operation amount for instructing the first engine speed is larger than the ratio of the change in the target engine speed to the change in the operation amount of the engine speed instructing device when the operation amount of the engine speed instructing device is changed from the operation amount for instructing the second engine speed to the operation amount for instructing the maximum speed.

Method and system for determining engine operation parameter values during a gear shift operation

The present invention relates to a method for determining engine operation parameter values during and/or after a gear shift operation prior to performing said gear shift operation. The method comprises the steps of, prior to the gear shift operation: determining initial conditions comprising torque demand and engine speed and certain other engine operation parameter values; providing said initial conditions to an engine operation simulation model; providing a torque development course as well as an engine speed development course during the intended gear shift operation to said engine operation simulation model; and determining desired engine operation parameter values by means of said engine operation simulation model based upon the information thus provided to said engine operation simulation model.

POWERTRAIN FAULT MANAGEMENT

A computer is programmed to determine an occupancy status of a vehicle based on received sensor data; and adjust a parameter of a powertrain of the vehicle in response to data indicating a critical condition of the powertrain based on the occupancy status. The parameter may be one of engine speed, cylinder deactivation, transmission-shift time, and shift schedule.

VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD AND VEHICLE SYSTEM

A method of controlling a vehicle (1) in which rear road wheels (2) are driven by a prime mover (4, 20). This vehicle control method comprises: a basic torque setting step of setting, based on a driving state of the vehicle, a basic torque to be generated by the prime mover; a decremental torque setting step of setting a decremental torque such that the basic torque is reduced in accordance with a decrease in steering angle of a steering device (26) equipped in the vehicle; and a torque generation step of controlling the prime mover to generate a torque which is determined by reducing the basic torque based on the decremental torque.

A vehicle system and method of controlling a vehicle engine are provided. The method includes determining a speed of an engine in the vehicle system including a hydraulic system and a vehicle propulsion system operatively coupled to the engine. The method includes determining that the engine speed is decreasing and an actual engine speed is less than a target engine speed, and determining a current gear setting and one or more operating parameters of the hydraulic system in response to determining that the engine speed is decreasing and the actual engine speed is less than the target engine speed. The method, in response to the current gear setting being engaged and the one or more operating parameters being greater than a predetermined threshold value, includes controlling the engine speed to be higher than the target engine speed.

Fuel efficient operation mode

A system includes a vehicle controller which includes a memory configured to store instructions and one or more processors. The vehicle controller is configured to set a fuel efficient operation mode. The fuel efficient operation mode includes setting a commanded engine speed to a nominal engine speed located within a range of optimal fuel efficiency engine speeds of a brake specific fuel consumption map. The fuel efficient operation mode also includes instructing an engine to operate at the commanded engine speed. The fuel efficient operation mode also includes determining a monitored engine speed. The fuel efficient operation mode also includes adjusting a commanded pump displacement in response to the monitored engine speed exceeding the range of optimal fuel efficiency engine speeds. The fuel efficient operation mode also includes instructing a hydraulic pump to operate at the commanded pump displacement.
