PROCESSING OF SIGNALS FROM A CRANKSHAFT SENSOR
Disclosed is a method for processing signals from a crankshaft sensor including the following steps: detection of a stopping of the engine; simulation and transmission of a backwards-running square waveform; and simulation and transmission of a forwards-running square waveform. Also disclosed is a processing module configured to implement such a method.
Engine control method for protecting an internal combustion engine during reverse rotation
Engine control method for protecting the engine during reverse rotation, and involving the following steps: when a first prediction of the engine speed at a next top dead center is below a predetermined lower threshold, inhibiting the next combustion for this cylinder of the engine, and when the first prediction of the engine speed is between the predetermined lower threshold and a predetermined upper threshold, and the engine reaches a second measurement predetermined angular position which is subsequent to the first measurement position, activating the prediction means again in order to obtain a second prediction of the engine speed at the next top dead center.
Methods and systems for exhaust tuning valve diagnostics
Methods and systems are provided for diagnostics of an exhaust tuning valve during vehicle-off conditions. In one example, the engine may be reverse rotated, unfueled while the position of the exhaust is varied and an intake air flow is estimated at each position of the exhaust tuning valve. The exhaust tuning valve may be diagnosed based on a change in air flow with the variation in the position of the exhaust tuning valve.
Engine start control device
An engine start control device includes an pass determination section that performs a pass determination process of determining, based on a rotation state of the engine output shaft, whether a piston in a cylinder of the engine can pass over a compression top dead center for a rotation drop period in response to an occurrence of the start request. The engine start control device also includes a start control section that when it is determined that the piston cannot pass over the compression top dead center, starts driving of the motor in a low reaction force period to start the engine, the low reaction force period being a period in which a reaction force applied to the piston by a cylinder internal pressure in the cylinder is a predetermined value or less.
Method and device for processing a signal produced by a sensor for detecting the rotation of a rotating target
Disclosed is a method for processing a primary signal produced by a sensor detecting the rotation of a rotating target. The primary signal includes pulses having, for a given speed of rotation of the target, a first positive voltage level for rotation in a first determined direction or a second positive voltage level for the opposite direction. A first secondary signal is generated by comparing the primary signal to a first determined voltage threshold between the first and second voltages. A second secondary signal is generated by comparing the primary signal to a second determined voltage threshold between the second voltage level and zero. A determined delay is introduced in the second secondary signal. A determined time threshold is compared to the duration between an active edge of the second secondary signal and the last preceding active edge of the first secondary signal, indicating direction.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO MITIGATE GASOLINE PARTICULATE FILTER PRESSURE SENSOR DEGRADATION
Methods and systems are provided for regenerating a particulate filter positioned in an exhaust system of an engine of a vehicle. In one example, a method comprises obtaining a first air flow in an intake of the engine and obtaining a second air flow in the intake of the engine, where regeneration of the particulate filter is conducted in response to the first air flow differing from the second air flow by at least a threshold amount, where the first air flow and the second air flow comprise air flow routed from the exhaust system to the intake of the engine. In this way, the particulate filter may be regenerated under conditions where a loading state of the particulate filter is not known.
Marine engine
Provided is a marine engine, including: an air controller configured to supply compressed air to a combustion chamber in an upstroke of a piston after a crash astern signal is output; a fuel controller configured to stop supply of fuel to the combustion chamber when the crash astern signal is output, and to resume the supply of the fuel after a backward rotation of a crankshaft; and a compression ratio controller configured to move a top dead center position of the piston toward an opposite side of a bottom dead center position of the piston when the crash astern signal is output, and the top dead center position of the piston is on the bottom dead center position side with respect to a predetermined position set in advance.
Control system for internal combustion engine, and internal combustion engine
A control system includes a controller. The controller estimates the swing-back amount indicating the turning amount of the crankshaft in the reverse rotation direction until the crankshaft stops. The controller calculates a stop-time counter value which is a value of a crank counter at the time when the engine is stopped based on a final counter value which is the value of the crank counter calculated last before the crankshaft stops and the estimated swing-back amount. The controller corrects the swing-back amount used for calculating the stop-time counter value based on a difference between the number of driving times calculated with reference to the map based on the calculated stop-time counter value and the value of the crank counter and the number of driving times calculated by increasing the number of driving times by one each time the high pressure system fuel pressure increases by the threshold or more.
Reverse rotation detection in rotating machinery
A system includes a sensor configured to monitor rotating machinery and generate a signal based on a physical characteristic of the rotating machinery. The system also includes a monitoring system with a processor. The processor of the monitoring system is configured to receive the signal from the sensor. The processor determines an occurrence of reverse rotation of the rotating machinery by comparing the signal to a normal operating pattern to generate an initial value. The processor generates a notification signal indicating the occurrence of a reverse rotation.
Vehicle-mounted control device
There is provided a vehicle-mounted control device that, when a restart request is generated during a time interval between the fulfillment of an engine automatic stop condition and complete stop, decreases a charging efficiency of an engine by means of at least one of a throttle valve and an intake valve to prevent an increase in the reverse rotational frequency of the engine, thereby ensuring the durability of the starting device of the engine, and preventing an accelerator response from deteriorating when a restart request based on the accelerator operation is generated. In the vehicle-mounted control device that controls a charging efficiency of the engine on the basis of the requested engine output amount, the engine is automatically stopped when a predetermined automatic stop condition is fulfilled, and a charging efficiency at the time when a restart condition of the engine has been fulfilled on the basis of an engine output request generated during a time interval between the fulfillment of the automatic stop condition and complete stop of the engine is made lower than a charging efficiency for the requested engine output amount.
