METHOD AND DEVICE FOR VALVE TRAVEL SWITCHING CONTROL OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and device for valve travel switching control of an internal combustion engine supercharged by an exhaust-gas turbocharger having a wastegate valve. This valve travel switching control includes: determining the current sensitivity of the charge pressure at a current operating point, at which a current valve travel, a current wastegate valve position and a current charge pressure are present, to changes in the wastegate valve position; determining the minimum valve travel necessary to set a desired operating point, taking into account the determined current sensitivity of the charge pressure; and switching the valve travel if the minimum valve travel necessary to set the internal combustion engine to an extended range with respect to the desired operating point differs from the current valve travel. By means of these measures, the fuel saving operating range of the internal combustion engine is enlarged.

When a waste gate valve (7) is forcibly fully closed for learning control at the time of start, the drive force of an electric actuator (20) is initially set to a large first level, and when a predetermined position (L1) immediately before seating is reached, the driving force is reduced to a second level. As a result, a valve body (7a) is gently seated. When a predetermined time (TM1) passes, the driving force is increased to a third level. Consequently, the electric actuator (20) presses the valve body (7a) onto a seat surface (34a) while displacing a spring member (37). As a result, a reliable sealability is obtained.

The present invention provides a controller and a control method for an internal combustion engine, which can suppress the generation of an annoying collision noise and abnormal heating of a motor of an actuator, which are generated by contact of the output shaft of the actuator with an opening side stopper of the actuator. The controller and the control method for the internal combustion engine are configured such that a target opening (Sv) of the valve is set to the smaller of: a required target opening (Sv_dem) computed so that a target supercharging pressure (Sp) and an actual supercharging pressure (Pp) are matched with each other; and a restricted target opening (Sv_lmt) computed based on a fully closed position learning value (Pv_lrn), which corresponds to an actual position detected by a position sensor, when the valve is located in the fully closed position, and on the restricted target position.

A control device according to an embodiment includes a storage, a determining unit, and a driving unit. The storage stores therein information on a hysteresis area of an actuator. The determining unit determines, based on a control mode, a target current value according to the hysteresis area whose information is stored in the storage. The driving unit supplies a driving current according to the target current value determined by the determining unit to the actuator.

The present invention relates to a control device and to a control method for a vehicle drive mechanism including a moving body having a movability range regulated by two stoppers, and a sensor which senses a position of the moving body. The control device of the present invention learns an output of the sensor corresponding to a contact state of a high-rigidity stopper, and limits, to a lower level, an operation variable of the actuator for moving the moving body toward a low-rigidity stopper along with an increase in an amount of change in the output of the sensor from the contact state of the high-rigidity stopper. Then, the control device learns the output of the sensor corresponding to the contact state of the low-rigidity stopper, and controls the actuator based on the output of the sensor learned at both the stopper positions.
