Rotary engine with seal having elastomeric and metallic members
A housing assembly for a rotary engine, has: a rotor housing having an inner face facing a rotor cavity, a first side and a second side opposite to the first side; a first side housing secured to the first side, and a second side housing secured to the second side, the rotor cavity bounded axially between the first side housing and the second side housing; and a seal received within a groove at an interface between the rotor housing and the first side housing, the groove located outwardly of the inner face and overlapping a peripheral section of the first side housing, the seal having: an elastomeric member compressed between the peripheral section and the rotor housing; and a metallic member disposed inwardly of the elastomeric member, the metallic member in contact with both of the peripheral section of the first side housing and the rotor housing.
Axle seal
An axle seal used to prevent lubricant from leaking between a rotating shaft and a shaft bore. The seal includes: a peripheral connection section reliably connected to an inner edge of the shaft bore; an extensible and retractable adjustment section connected to the peripheral connection section, allowing the seal to make extension and retraction adjustment in a radial direction; and a sealed contact section connected to the inner edge of the extensible and retractable adjustment section and potentially in sealed contact with the surface of the rotating shaft. The seal contains an alignment follower that can synchronously transfer a radial movement of the rotating shaft to the inner edge of the extensible and retractable adjustment section. One application would be an oil seal between a front cover and crankshaft.
Hybrid cycle rotary engine
An internal combustion engine includes in one aspect a source of a pressurized working medium and an expander. The expander has a housing and a piston, movably mounted within and with respect to the housing, to perform one of rotation and reciprocation, each complete rotation or reciprocation defining at least a part of a cycle of the engine. The expander also includes a septum, mounted within the housing and movable with respect to the housing and the piston so as to define in conjunction therewith, over first and second angular ranges of the cycle, a working chamber that is isolated from an intake port and an exhaust port. Combustion occurs at least over the first angular range of the cycle to provide heat to the working medium and so as to increase its pressure. The working chamber over a second angular range of the cycle expands in volume while the piston receives, from the working medium as a result of its increased pressure, a force relative to the housing that causes motion of the piston relative to the housing.
Engine rear seal
In an engine rear seal installed to an engine rear portion having an end plate arranged in a motor exterior side of a housing, and a flywheel arranged in a motor exterior side of the end plate, the engine rear seal has an oil seal and a muddy water preventing seal. The muddy water preventing seal integrally has an attaching portion, and a seal lip directed to a diametrically outer side from the attaching portion and slidably coming into close contact with an end surface in the motor exterior side of the end plate. The seal lip has an inclined lip end back surface portion, and is structured such that a lip end comes into contact with the end surface at the low-speed rotating time and the lip end moves away from the end plate on the basis of an action of a centrifugal force at the high-speed rotating time.
Rotary combustion engine block sealing
A block sealing of a rotary combustion engine having a rotating block with radially located cylinders and pistons and an outside stationary case is disclosed. Transverse and/or lateral sealings located in the stationary case fit tight to an outer surface of the block. In circular grooves, a lateral sealing of radius sealing strips with springs situated between adjacent transverse sealing strips placed in transverse grooves is located. Couplings with notches and pressure springs are located in bores of the stationary case for inserting radius sealing strips and transverse sealing strips. The radius sealing strip is provided with a cut-out for interlocking of a stop connected with the stationary case. In the side of the radius sealing strip, a longitudinal groove in which a flexible sealing element and/or transverse sealing strip is made, and at its side, it is provided with a groove in which another flexible sealing element is located.
Integrated oil-less cylinder head engine
An oil-less engine with an integrated cylinder head is described. Oil-less engine allows manufacturers to build environmentally safer oil-free engines, with fewer engine parts and at reduced costs of manufacturing. In one embodiment, the present invention an internal combustion engine comprising a reciprocating cradle having pistons. The cradle is assembled with a circular disk that rotates. The rotation of the circular disk causes the pistons and the cradle to reciprocate and thereby causing a combustion with cylinder heads.
Combined Sealing Piece, Volumetric Machine and Wide Fuel Engine
Provided are a combined sealing piece, a volumetric machine and a wide fuel engine using the combined sealing piece. The combined sealing piece includes a slider with a main sealing piece. The combined sealing piece further includes at least one auxiliary sealing piece, a first auxiliary sealing piece is backed against the slider or leans against the main sealing piece and the slider at the same time, and an elastic member is disposed between the first auxiliary sealing piece and the slider.
Rotary engine with seal having elastomeric member and shield
A housing assembly for a rotary engine, has: a rotor housing extending around an axis, the rotor housing having an inner face facing a rotor cavity; side housings secured to opposite sides of the rotor housing, the rotor cavity bounded axially between the side housings; and a seal received within a groove at an interface between the rotor housing and a first side housing, the groove annularly extending around the axis, located outwardly of the inner face, and overlapping a peripheral section of the first side housing, the seal having: an elastomeric member compressed between the peripheral section and the rotor housing; and a shield disposed inwardly of the elastomeric member, the shield having a melting point above a temperature of combustion gases, the shield in contact with both of the peripheral section of the first side housing and the rotor housing.
