Medication Injection Site and Data Collection System
A medication delivery apparatus for use with a medication container includes a housing, a fluid conduit at least partially extending within the housing and configured to deliver medication within the medication container to a patient, a medication port extending from the housing and configured to be coupled to a fluid outlet of the medication container, the medication port being fluidically coupled to the fluid conduit, and at least one sensor disposed within the housing to generate information characterizing administration of the medication for processing by a remote data collection system. The housing can have a size and shape that enables it to be supported by a first hand of a user while the user administers the medication from the medication container via the medication port using a second hand of the user. Related apparatus, systems, and techniques are also described.
Selective sealing cartridge
Cartridges have a cartridge body configured to store a formulation, a formulation valve disposed in the cartridge body, and an air valve disposed in the cartridge body. The cartridge is configured to dispense the formulation through the formulation valve when the formulation valve and the air valve are each in an open state, and to not dispense the formulation when the formulation valve and the air valve are in a closed state.
FLUIDICS CASSETTE FOR OCULAR SURGICAL SYSTEM
Methods, devices, and systems for laser eye surgery generally make use of a console that interchangeably accepts multiple types of eye treatment cassettes. The cassettes enable one or both of displacement-based or vacuum-based aspiration. The console and the cassette may communicate to establish the functionality of the installed cassette by utilizing a component indigenous to the operation of the cassette. A dual-mode cassette may include a separable holding tank for enabling vacuum-based aspiration. A displacement-based pump may be provided to drain the holding tank while the vacuum system continues to aspirate fluids. A vacuum sensor for controlling the flow of aspirated fluids may have three ports for communicating with a handpiece, a displacement-based pump, a vacuum-based pump, or an irrigation source. The handpiece may be vented during vacuum-based aspiration by opening a vent valve interposed between the handpiece and the vacuum source.
SAFE OPERATION OF INTEGRATED NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND TREATMENT APPARATUSES
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for safe operation of a wound treatment apparatus with electronic components integrated on or within a wound dressing. In some embodiments, the electronic components include a power source, an isolation circuit, a controller, a capacitor, and a negative pressure source. The isolation circuit provides multiple activation states with at least one state preventing application of power to the other electronic components capable of storing electrical energy, thereby providing a safe operation of the apparatus. For example, sterilization of the apparatus can be performed safely.
Infusion system and components thereof
Multi-medicament infusion systems prevent cross-channeling of medicaments. A system may include one or more of an infusion pump, medicament reservoirs, a multi-channel fluid conduit, and an infusion set. Medicament reservoirs and/or collars may be sized and shaped differently such that the medicament reservoirs can only be inserted into the system under selected configurations.
Low profile filter devices suitable for use in negative pressure wound therapy systems
A filter adaptor includes a body that defines an internal passageway disposed between an inlet and an outlet, the passageway configured to permit passage of a fluid in a first direction defined by the inlet and the outlet; and a filter disposed within the passageway and oriented to define a volumetric direction that is different than the first direction. Another filter adaptor includes a body that defines an internal passageway disposed between an inlet and an outlet, and a filter disposed within the passageway, wherein the filter comprises a gelling absorbent material that, when in a dry state, is permeable to gas and that, when contacted by an aqueous fluid, converts to a gel. Such filter adaptors may be used for negative pressure wound therapy, dressing, or as syringe filters.
Device and system for obtaining medicament related information
The present invention relates to a system for obtaining medicament related information of specific medicaments, the in system comprising a device (10, 50) for obtaining medicament related information, the device comprising a recording unit, said recording unit comprising a reader (20, 32; 86, 88, 92, 122), capable of reading information pertained to specific medicaments, said recording unit further comprising a memory module (22, 104) capable of storing information read by said reader (20, 32; 86, 88, 92, 122), wherein said reader (20, 32; 86, 88, 92, 122) is arranged with a three-dimensional contact interface (81) designed to interact with a corresponding contact surface (87) containing information related to specific medicaments.
Medication Dose Preparation and Transfer System
Apparatus, systems, methods and articles are described to prepare and track medications and medication containers as they are prepared, administered to patients and, in some cases, disposed of. Information such as medication type, concentration, and volume are associated with medication containers during preparation and this information can later be consumed/utilized when administering the medication from a container to a patient. Disposing of any remaining medication can also be tracked.
DEVICE FOR ATTACHMENT TO AN INJECTION DEVICE
A supplementary device configured to be releasably attached to a drug delivery device. The supplementary device comprises a housing having a channel configured to slidably receive the drug delivery device; a first alignment feature to ensure a specific alignment of the supplementary device relative to the drug delivery device and restrict rotational movement of the supplementary device around a drug delivery device; and a second alignment feature to prevent sliding movement of the supplementary device relative to the delivery device once attached thereto. The second alignment feature comprises a moveable securing member biased towards the drug delivery device, and a release member operable to move the securing member out of engagement with the drug delivery device.
