A supplemental device for gathering information concerning the use of an injection device, the supplemental device having a first camera sensor portion for generating a first camera output indicative of a scene in the field of view of the first camera sensor portion, a second camera sensor portion for generating a second camera output indicative of a scene in the field of view of the second camera sensor portion, and at least one processor. The processor configured to use the first camera output to determine whether a rotational speed of an object in the field of view exceeds a threshold speed, if it is determined the rotational speed of the object does not exceed the threshold speed, to process the second camera output to identify a feature provided on the or another object, and if it is determined the rotational speed of the object does exceed the threshold speed, to refrain from attempting to identify the feature.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A SURGICAL PUMP USING ENDOSCOPIC VIDEO DATA

According to an aspect, video data taken from an endoscopic imaging device can be used to automatically control a surgical pump for purposes of regulating fluid pressure in an internal area of a patient during an endoscopic procedure. Control of the pump can be based in part on one or more features extracted from video data received from an endoscopic imaging device. The features can be extracted from the video data using a combination of machine learning classifiers and other processes configured to determine the presence of various conditions within the images of the internal area of the patient. Using the one or more extracted features, the system can adjust the inflow and outflow settings of the surgical pump to regulate the fluid pressure of the internal area of the patient commensurate with the needs of the surgery and the patient at any given moment in time during the surgical procedure.

METHOD FOR PROVIDING COMFORT FEATURE IN A PRESSURE SUPPORT DEVICE AND PRESSURE SUPPORT DEVICE INCLUDING SAME

A method of providing a pressure support therapy to a patient via a PAP device, includes: providing a flow of a breathing gas at a first pressure to an airway of the patient, receiving a first indication from the patient of an adjustment to the first pressure, responsive to receiving the first indication, providing the flow of breathing gas at a second pressure to the airway of the patient.

Alarm messages, which are output by a medical apparatus, are remotely processed on a remote application apparatus under consideration of a safety check and in particular with regard to whether the user who is working at the application apparatus is in visual contact with the alarm message-triggering medical apparatus. The medical apparatus may be a hemodialysis apparatus or a peritoneal dialysis apparatus, or another type of medical apparatus.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING LIQUID LEVEL IN A CLEAR OR PARTIALLY CLEAR CONTAINER

A trap bowl is provided to accumulate liquid droplets from a filter, as a liquid content. The trap bowl includes a transparent vertical prism. The transparent vertical prism includes a face that forms a vertical transparent surface facing against a content of the section. The face can provide a first angle of total reflection when content of the section is a type of gas, and a second angle of total reflection when the content of the section is the liquid content. A light source may emit a light beam incident on the face at an angle of incidence. The angle of incidence results in reflection of the light beam, striking the light receiver, when the face has the first angle of total reflection, and results in refraction of the light beam, missing the light receiver, when the face has the second angle of total reflection.
