Functional control and age verification of electronic devices through visual communication

An aerosol delivery or electronic nicotine delivery systems (“ENDS”) device may include smoking articles that produce aerosol. The device may operate upon authentication. The authentication may first include an age verification before an authentication allows for operation of the device. The authentication may include a control signal communication to the device. The control signal communication may include an audio signal, such as an authentication tone that is detected by a microphone or pressure sensor on the device. The control signal communication may include a visual, optical, or light signal that is detected by a light sensor or photodiode on the device.

SYSTEM FOR EXTENDED REALITY VISUAL CONTRIBUTIONS

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving information about a task to be completed by a user, receiving information about the user and receiving information about a physical environment of the user. The subject disclosure may further include creating one or more immersion objects based on the information about the task, the information about the user and the information about the physical environment, creating an immersive environment including the one or more immersive objects and at least a portion of the physical environment of the user, and communicating to an extended reality (XR) device of the user information about the immersive environment to create an immersive experience for completion of the task by the user. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Medicament delivery device

The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a housing (60), which housing is arranged to accommodate a medicament container (62); a drive unit (86) operably arranged to act on said medicament container (62) for expelling a dose of medicament; an activation unit (74) operably connected to said drive unit for activating said drive unit (86); said drive unit (86) comprising an actuation element (84) arranged movable inside the housing (60) from an initial position prior to activation, to a displaced position after activation; at least a first NFC-chip (170, 172) comprising specific information arranged on said actuation element; at least one shielding element (174) arranged to said housing, such as to shield said at least first NFC-chip (170, 172) from being read by an NFC-chip reader when said actuation element (84) is either in the initial position or in the displaced position. The present invention also comprises a communication system in which said medicament delivery device is a part.

CREATING A 3D MODEL USING TWO OR MORE CAMERAS WITH VARIABLE FOCAL LENGTHS
20210375046 · 2021-12-02 ·

A method of creating a 3D model of a physical object includes adaptively and iteratively generating a number disparity maps from image data representing a plurality of images of the physical object iteratively captured by a plurality of cameras having electrically adjustable focal lengths by varying at least one of the focal lengths of the plurality of cameras and a distance of the physical object from the plurality of cameras during capture of the images until one of the disparity maps is determined to have a least a threshold level of disparity, and converting the one of the disparity maps into the 3D model.

DEVICE AND METHOD TO SELECTIVELY PROVIDE AN ODOR STIMULATION
20220202607 · 2022-06-30 · ·

A method to manipulate respiration with odor dispensing includes dispensing a dose of odor toward a user from a distance of 10 cm-3 m from the user and controllably dissipating the odor in the vicinity of the dispensing at pre-defined period after the dispensing. The method is optionally configured to reduce snoring and/or apnea events while the user is sleeping.

AMBULATORY MEDICAMENT PUMP WITH INTEGRATED MEDICAMENT ORDERING INTERFACE

Ambulatory medical devices that provide therapy to a subject, such as blood glucose control, are disclosed. Disclosed systems and devices can implement one or more features that improve the user experience, such as maintain delivery of therapy to a subject after determining that a possible occlusion exists in a medicament delivery system. The system can receive an indication of an amount of initial medicament in possession of the subject and determine a rate of consumption of medicament. The system can determine the amount of total remaining medicament and determine that the amount of the total remaining medicament is below a threshold amount. Based on this, the system may generate a user alert that indicates that additional supply of medicament may be necessary.

STORING, CONTROLLING, AND PORTING RESPIRATORY SETTINGS FROM A REMOTE SERVER
20220189609 · 2022-06-16 ·

Disclosed are systems and methods for automatically porting respiratory therapy settings to a new respiratory therapy device. Currently, when a patient replaces receives a replacement respiratory therapy device, the prescription settings must be manually ported. Accordingly, the inventors have developed technology to automatically, port, translate, and validate therapy settings and modes to a replacement respiratory therapy device.

GLUCOSE LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM WITH THERAPY CUSTOMIZATION

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for providing a configuration code for customizing a glucose level control system for at least an initial period. The configuration code can be based on one or more dosing parameters from a tracked medicament therapy administered to a subject over a tracking period by the glucose level control system. The configuration code includes encoded dosing parameters including a correction dosing parameter based on at least some of the correction boluses of medicament administered during the tracking period, a food intake dosing parameter comprising an indication of a food intake bolus size of medicament based on one or more food intake boluses provided during the tracking period, and a basal dosing parameter based on at least some of the basal doses of medicament administered during the tracking period.

Fingerprint enhanced authentication for medical devices in wireless networks

An infusion system to administer fluid is disclosed. The infusion system includes an infusion pump having a pump processor, a pump memory and a pump radio to enable bi-directional communication. The pump memory stores a plurality of fingerprint tokens and security conditions. The infusion system includes a controller with a processor, a controller memory and a controller radio to transmit and receive communication from the pump radio. The controller includes a fingerprint scanner and a graphical user interface (GUI) and controls to manipulate the GUI. The GUI and fingerprint scanner enable the controller to scan and determine tokens based on scanned fingerprints. Additionally, communication between the infusion pump and the controller establish relative proximity between the infusion pump and the controller such that when the relative proximity exceeds a threshold distance at least one of the plurality of security conditions is automatically matched.
