METHOD FOR COATING MICROSTRUCTURED COMPONENTS
The invention relates to a method for the surface modification of microstructured components having a polar surface, in particular for high-pressure applications. According to said method, a microstructured component is contacted, in particular treated, with a modification reagent, the surface properties of said component being modified by chemical and/or physical interaction of the component surface and of the modification reagent.
RESPIRATORY DEVICE
A breathing treatment apparatus delivers breathing gas to a user. The apparatus May be configured to comprise one or more sensors for sensing microbial growth within the apparatus.
Removable Inlet Manifold For A Medical/Surgical Waste Collection Unit
A removable manifold for a medical/surgical waste collection system. The manifold is dimensioned to be mounted to a receiver integral with the system. The manifold includes a includes at least one fitting through which waste is drawn into the manifold. The fitting opens through an inlet port into a void space internal to the manifold. The manifold includes a drip stop.
FLAPPER VALVE ASSEMBLY WITH PLURAL FLAPPER VALVES
A flapper valve assembly with a hub to which plural flapper valves are pivotally attached. The hub includes a through hole to which a fastening component can be attached. On each of the major faces of the hub a rib extends circumferentially around the through hole. The ribs are compressible so as to provide a seal around the through hole. In many versions of the invention, the hub, the ribs, the hinges and valves are formed from a single piece of compressible, flexible material. Often in these versions of the invention, the hinges have a cross-section thickness greater than the thickness of the hub and valves.
MEDICAL/SURGICAL WASTE COLLECTION PORTABLE ROVER CAPABLE OF ZERO SETTING A FLOAT USED TO MEASURE THE VOLUME OF LIQUID IN A WASTE CONTAINER
A medical/surgical waste collection rover includes a first waste container disposed on a portable cart and receiving waste under the influence of a vacuum. A fluid measuring system includes a float element disposed within the first waste container, and a controller causing liquid in a reservoir disposed on the cart to prefill the first waste container and subject the float element to an initial lifting to a zero point level. The fluid measuring system determines a volume of contents within the first waste container based on a position of the float element relative to the zero point level. The fluid measuring system may include a sensor rod extending through the first waste container and a second waste container disposed on the cart and separated from the first waste container by a transfer valve. Methods of estimating the volume of liquid and/or medical/surgical waste within the waste container are also provided.
COPOLYMER AND MEDICAL DEVICE, SEPARATION MEMBRANE MODULE FOR MEDICAL USE, AND BLOOD PURIFIER INCLUDING THE SAME
A copolymer has blood compatibility and antithrombotic properties of greatly suppressing protein adhesion to be usable even when in contact with a biological component such as blood for a long period of time, and a medical device uses the copolymer. The copolymer is characterized by including a hydrophilic unit and a hydrophobic unit, wherein the hydrophobic unit contains at least one type of a carboxylic acid vinyl unit, and the number of carbon atoms at the terminal of a side chain of the carboxylic acid vinyl unit is 2-7.
Apparatuses and methods for negative pressure wound therapy
Disclosed herein are several embodiments of a reduced pressure appliance and methods of using the same in the treatment of wounds. Some embodiments are directed to improved fluidic connectors or suction adapters for connecting to a wound site, for example using softer, kink-free conformable suction adapters. Certain embodiments are directed to connectors used to connect fluid passage tube used in transmitting negative pressure to a fabric channel used in a suction adapter.
Liposuction device and use thereof
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method of cosmetic or biomedical application of a device, comprising a self-contained syringe device comprising an inner syringe included within an outer syringe and wherein a filter is attached inside the outer syringe barrel; wherein the filter comprises a filter material that prevents premature filter collapse where the filter material is optionally coated to increase stiffness, and wherein liposuctioned adipose tissue is collected and purified inside the syringes.
Surgical waste collection unit with a manifold receiver that is offset relative to the horizontal
A surgical waste collection unit with a receiver for removably holding a manifold to which suction lines are connected. The receiver is mounted to the waste collection unit to be at an acute angle relative to the horizontal. The receiver is further configured to allow the manifold to be rotated in the receiver. This means the manifold can be rotated from a first position in which the manifold outlet opening is aligned with the conduit through which waste is flowed from the receiver and a second position in which the manifold outlet opening is elevated relative to the first position.
LIPOSUCTION DEVICE AND USE THEREOF
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a device for removing adipose tissue, comprising a self-contained syringe device comprising an inner syringe included within an outer syringe and wherein a filter is attached inside the outer syringe barrel; wherein the filter comprises a filter material that prevents premature filter collapse where the filter material is optionally coated to increase stiffness, and wherein liposuctioned adipose tissue is collected and purified inside the syringes. Methods of using the devices or system are also disclosed.
