Vent Insert
A vent insert is disclosed for use with an automotive turbocharger system. The vent has a substantially cylindrical hollow tube with a first end for seating the vent and a second open end. The first end has a rim around an opening. The second end of the vent has an angled opening that faces away from the direction of the gas flow when the vent insert is operating within the turbocharger system. There are a plurality of protrusions extending outward from the outside surface of the vent to assist in keeping the vent insert in place in the turbocharger system.
Evaporative emission device and adsorbent
The present disclosure relates to hydrocarbon emission control systems. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to substrates coated with hydrocarbon adsorptive coating compositions, air intake systems, and evaporative emission control systems for controlling evaporative emissions of hydrocarbons from motor vehicle engines and fuel systems.
Staggered array arrangement for air/liquid separation
A separator system comprises a main separator, and an additional separator including one of a pre-separator, post separator, or line-of-sight baffle. The additional separator separates liquid particles from an air/liquid mixture and comprises an inlet, an air outlet, a liquid outlet, and a plurality of posts disposed between the inlet and the air outlet. The posts are arranged in a staggered array and comprise a convex end portion having an impaction surface, a portion of liquid particles from the air/liquid mixture adhering as a liquid film to the impaction surface, and a hook end portion positioned downstream the convex end portion and including hooks having an end and a collection pocket disposed between the impaction surface and the end. The collection pocket collects the portion of liquid particles adhered as the liquid film to the impaction surface.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The internal combustion engine includes a second separator, a connection pipe, and a pressure sensor. Inside the second separator, a main chamber located in the cylinder head cover, and a first sub-chamber and a second sub-chamber located in a joint portion located outside the cylinder head cover are formed. The first sub-chamber and the second sub-chamber are partitioned by partition walls. A communication hole connecting the first sub-chamber and the second sub-chamber is formed in the partition wall. The first sub-chamber is connected to the main chamber via a throttle portion. A first connection port connected to the first sub-chamber and a second connection port connected to the second sub-chamber are formed in the joint portion. The first connection port is connected to the intake passage via a connection pipe. The second connection port is connected to the pressure sensor.

Separation assembly with multiple separators and a single jet pump assembly
The application relates to a separation assembly with multiple separators and a single jet pump assembly. A separation assembly comprises a first crankcase ventilation separator comprises a first drain outlet, a second crankcase ventilation separator that comprises a second drain outlet, and a jet pump assembly. The jet pump assembly comprises a first drain inlet fluidly connected to the first drain outlet of the first crankcase ventilation separator and a second drain inlet fluidly connected to the second drain outlet of the second crankcase ventilation separator. The jet pump assembly provides suction pressure to both the first drain outlet of the first crankcase ventilation separator and the second drain outlet of the second crankcase ventilation separator.

Internal combustion engine lubricated with a water-containing lubricant
An internal combustion engine includes an internal combustion engine interior and a lubricant disposed in the internal combustion engine interior. The lubricant lubricates a component disposed in the internal combustion engine interior and the lubricant is a water-containing lubricant. In an embodiment, the internal combustion engine interior is fluidically connected to an environment surrounding the internal combustion engine by a ventilation device where the ventilation device has a semipermeable membrane which is impermeable to water and water vapor.
CATCH CAN OIL FILTER
An apparatus and a method are provided for a crankcase breather vent assembly to direct blow-by gases out of an engine crankcase. A vent base comprising a generally cylindrical vessel communicates received blow-by gases into an interior cavity of a breather vent that comprises a filter medium. Baffles disposed within an interior cavity of the vent base capture oil carried along with the blow-by gases. The captured oil is directed to an oil sump of the engine by way of a suitable hose. A bonnet fastenably receives the breather vent and is configured to reduce a buildup of oil residue on nearby engine components. An outer profile of the breather vent is tapered along a longitudinal dimension of the filter medium to facilitate unrestricted air flow through the filter medium when the bonnet is installed onto the breather vent.
