TREATMENT OF ASTHMA, ALLERGIC RHINITIS AND IMPROVEMENT OF QUALITY OF SLEEP BY TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED LAMINAR AIRFLOW TREATMENT
This invention relates in general to methods and devices for displacing body convection and thereby reducing exposure to allergens and other airborne fine particles within a personal breathing zone during situations of or corresponding to sleep thereby reducing or removing symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis while improving quality of sleep and in particular to methods and devices that utilize Temperature controlled Laminar Airflow (abbreviated TLA from herein and onwards). Also, business methods involving such methods and devices are disclosed.
PERSONAL AIR FILTRATION DEVICE
The invention provides a personal filtration apparatus with a multi-stage filter. In some embodiments each section can be individually replaced for reduced cost
RESPIRATORY THERAPY FILTER, FLOW CONTROL, AND PATIENT INTERFACE APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A nebulizer assembly for a respiratory device is provided having a housing defining a chamber. The housing also has a nebulizer port configured to receive a nebulizer to discharge atomized medication into the chamber. An outlet of a handle is coupled to the inlet of the housing. A hose is coupled to an inlet of the handle. A patient interface is coupled to the outlet of the housing. Air flows from the hose to the patient interface via the handle and the housing. The air mixes with the atomized medication within the chamber.
MULTI-MODE RESPIRATORY THERAPY APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A respiratory therapy apparatus is operable to deliver multiple types of therapy to a patient. The apparatus includes a main housing and a nebulizer tray that selectively attaches to a bottom of the main housing. The apparatus also includes a filter housing unit having an antenna surrounding a pneumatic passage and a transponder chip coupled to the antenna. The main housing also has an antenna that surrounds a respective pneumatic passage of a main outlet port of the apparatus. The main housing includes a reader that controls communication between the antennae. The main housing of the apparatus also has a pivotable hose support plate, a firmware upgrade port underneath part of the top wall of the housing, and a graphical user interface (GUI) that displays various user inputs for control of the apparatus and that displays various alert conditions that are detected.
Simplified regeneration of apheresis columns
The present invention relates to an apheresis device (1) for the extracorporeal removal of C-reactive protein from blood of a patient, wherein the apheresis device is connectable to the blood circulation of the patient. The blood is pumped via a part of the extracorporeal circulation system (2) of the apheresis device (1) according to the invention to a cell separator (7) for separation of the blood into blood plasma and cellular components. Via a first outlet of the cell separator (7), the separated blood plasma is directed by means of a plasma line (8A) to an apheresis column (4) for affinity chromatographic removal of C-reactive protein from the blood plasma. After removal of the C-reactive protein from the blood plasma of the patient, said now treated blood plasma is combined with the cellular components of the blood via a plasma line (8B). Furthermore, the apheresis device (1) according to the invention comprises a bypass line (12), which leads from the plasma line (8A) into the plasma line (8B) while bypassing the apheresis column (4). The apheresis device (1) according to the invention also comprises a regeneration line (14), which runs into the plasma line (8A) or directly into the apheresis column (4).
Noise reduction device for respiratory apparatus
A noise reduction device for a respiratory apparatus including a body with a gas outlet arranged to be mounted on the gas inlet of the respiratory apparatus, and a cover configured to be detachably engaged with the body for forming a gas inlet and a gas passage. The cover includes a guiding member to define at least a part of the gas passage and the guiding member is configured to be coupled with the body to form the gas passage between the body and the cover. The noise reduction device provides a longer and smooth passage for the gas to flow from the gas inlet to the gas outlet for reduction of turbulence and resistance of gas flow and hence reducing the noise caused by the friction between the fluctuated gas flow and the gas inlet of the respiratory apparatus.
