Systems are provided for aligning and assembling an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) assembly with an engine intake housing. In one example, an intake system may include an EGR port housing for coupling the EGR assembly on an intake housing. The EGR port housing may include one or more alignment tabs on at least one side of the EGR port housing for aligning and guiding the EGR assembly during installation onto the intake housing.

SIEVE SEAL AND METHOD FOR OPERATION THEREOF
20190264640 · 2019-08-29 ·

A sieve seal as a component embodied of one piece, consisting of a seal, which holds a sieve body so that it is enclosed over an inner free cross-sectional area. The present invention also relates to a method for sustained operation of a sieve seal of this kind. In order to provide a remedy in the event of a clogging and/or soot formation and an accumulation of deposits in the sieve seal, it is proposed that the sieve body is embodied for an electric current to flow through at least part of it in such a way that a temperature that is sufficient to eliminate at least significant parts of the deposits is achieved or a corresponding temperature threshold is exceeded.

METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR AN EGR COOLER INCLUDING COOLING TUBES WITH A COMPLIANT REGION

Various methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas recirculation cooler including a plurality of cooling tubes. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler includes a plurality of cooling tubes positioned within a housing of the EGR cooler, each cooling tube of the plurality of cooling tubes extending between and directly coupled to tube sheets of the EGR cooler at ends of each cooling tube, where at least one end of one or more cooling tubes of a first portion of the plurality of cooling tubes, inward of a tube sheet coupled to the at least one end, includes a compliant region, where the first portion is positioned proximate to an exhaust inlet of the EGR cooler.

ENGINE WITH EGR DEVICE

An engine with an EGR device includes an engine case, and an EGR pipe that introduces an EGR gas into an intake path. The EGR pipe is arranged to pass through an inside of the engine case. A part of the EGR pipe in the engine case is arranged to face a cooling water path in the engine case. The engine case is defined by a cylinder head. The cooling water path is arranged to surround a whole circumference of the EGR pipe.

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION COOLER

An EGR cooler in the disclosure includes: a gas path configured to allow an EGR gas to flow; a refrigerant path configured to perform heat exchange between the EGR gas circulating along the gas path and a refrigerant; an exothermic body containing portion configured such that an exothermic body to generate heat by adsorbing a predetermined working gas is contained within the EGR cooler and at least a part of the exothermic body contacts with a wall surface of the gas path; a working gas tank in which the working gas is stored; and a gas moving apparatus configured to move the working gas stored in the working gas tank, from the working gas tank to the exothermic body containing portion.

COOLER FOR VEHICLE

A cooler for a vehicle includes: a cooler housing; tubes disposed inside the cooler housing; cooling pins arranged inside the tubes in a predetermined pattern; and a cup plate attached to both ends of the cooler housing, including a first core material and a first bonding layer bonded at both outer surfaces of the first core material, and having a plurality of slots penetrating the first bonding layer and the first core material in a thickness direction. Each of the tube has an end part penetrating each of the slots and includes a second core material and a second bonding layer that is in contact with an interior surface of the slots, the second bonding layer is in contact with the first bonding layer and the first core material, and the first bonding layer includes a material having a corrosion potential lower than that of the second bonding layer.

WASTE HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM WITH LOW TEMPERATURE HEAT EXCHANGER
20190186415 · 2019-06-20 ·

Systems and methods are disclosed to recover waste heat from an engine fluid with a heat exchanger subsystem that includes a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger subsystem is thermally coupled to a working fluid and the engine fluid, so the waste heat from the engine fluid is transferred to the working fluid. The engine fluid is bypassed from the heat exchanger in response to a heat exchanger bypass condition.
