INTAKE MANIFOLD
An intake manifold provided in an internal combustion engine to be mounted in a vehicle includes: a plurality of intake-air branch pipes; an EGR chamber configured such that EGR gas is introduced into the EGR chamber; and a plurality of EGR ports communicating the plurality of intake-air branch pipes with the EGR chamber. A chamber bottom face is provided with a plurality of recessed zones so as to correspond to the plurality of EGR ports, each of the plurality of recessed zones is provided near an opening of its corresponding EGR port on an chamber side, and all planes constituting the each of the plurality of recessed zones is configured to be inclined so as to be placed on a mounting lower side toward a position closer to the opening, as compared with a position away from the opening.
MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HEAD BOX OF MOTORCYCLE, AND AIR-INTAKE DEVICE OF MOTORCYCLE
An air-intake device comprises a vehicle body frame including a head box; and a pair of right and left main frames, wherein the head box includes: a casing section which extends between a front opening and a rear opening of the head box and is formed with a main air passage; and a pair of right and left extending sections coupled to the pair of main frames, respectively, wherein at least one extending section is provided with a branch air passage which branches from the main air passage, and wherein a separating wall is provided between the main air passage and the branch air passage and has a communication hole, and wherein when a vehicle body is viewed from a side, at least one extending section is extended rearward to a location at which at least a front region of the communication hole is covered by the extending section.
Leakage Detection in Engine Air Systems
A leak detection system for an engine air system is provided. The leak detection system may include a plurality of pressure sensors configured to retrieve pressure data from the engine air system, a plurality of temperature sensors configured to retrieve temperature data from the engine air system, and a controller in communication with each of the pressure sensors and the temperature sensors. The controller may be configured to receive the pressure data and the temperature data, compare the pressure data and the temperature data to one or more predefined data trends, and identify a leak within the engine air system based on the comparison.
Systems and methods for treated exhaust gas recirculation in internal combustion engines
Systems and methods for treated exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) for an internal combustion engine are disclosed. The internal combustion engine has an exhaust manifold discharging exhaust gas and an intake manifold receiving forced air from a compressor. One or more exhaust treatment devices treat the exhaust gas and produce a treated exhaust gas. The EGR system includes an EGR line downstream of the one or more exhaust treatment devices and connected to the engine intake line downstream of the compressor, wherein the treated EGR line recirculates the treated exhaust gas to the intake manifold of the engine without passing through the compressor.
FUEL RAIL AND ASSEMBLY
In some embodiments, a fuel rail for a two-stroke internal combustion engine includes a fuel rail body, a fuel inlet component integrated within the fuel rail body as a one-piece component and in fluidic contact with a fuel line, one or more fuel exit ports in fluidic contact with a cylinder of a combustion engine, and one or more fasteners adapted to secure the fuel rail body to a cylinder wall of the cylinder of the combustion engine
Quick connection system and method for implementation
A system for quick connection between a female end piece provided with a U-shaped locking clip and a male end piece fitted therein, the wall of the female end piece having opposite slits through which the arms of the U-shaped locking clip protrude into the passage of the end piece and the wall of the male end piece having an outer groove lockably receiving the clip arms in a final fitted state of the male piece in the female piece, locked by the clip. Also included is a part forming a removable prestressing element for the clip with housing sites engaging the two free sections in a first resting configuration, and in at least a second prestressed configuration in which the arms are more separated than in the resting configuration but less than during the passage of the maximum outer section of the male end piece.
Fluid supply system having shutoff valve with stabilized electrical valve actuator
A fluid supply system for a machine such as an internal combustion engine includes a shutoff valve having an electrical actuator that includes a solenoid subassembly, and a stabilizer for the electrical valve actuator. The stabilizer includes a fitting structured to couple the shutoff valve to adjacent hardware in the fluid supply system, and a strongarm extending between the fitting and the solenoid assembly and clamped to the solenoid subassembly. A vibration-damping reinforced grommet may be clamped between the solenoid subassembly and the clamp.
FUEL INJECTOR AND NOZZLE ASSEMBLY HAVING SPRAY DUCT WITH CENTER BODY FOR INCREASED FLAME LIFTOFF LENGTH
A fuel injector includes a nozzle body, and spray ducts coupled to the nozzle body and in spray path alignment with spray orifices therein. A nozzle check is movable within the nozzle body to open and close the spray orifices. Each of the spray ducts defines a duct center axis, and includes a center body forming, together with a duct inner surface, a spray jet passage circumferential of the duct center axis and reduced in area in a direction of spray jet advancement from the nozzle body.
