ARRANGEMENT FOR TRANSFERRING FORCE FROM A CAMSHAFT TO AN OUTPUT DEVICE
A force transfer arrangement for transferring a force from a rotating camshaft to an output device, that is able to reduce the transversal force on the camshaft. The proposed connection device force transfer arrangement is configured to cause forces to act on the camshaft from substantially opposite directions which effectively produces a resultant force on the camshaft to be close to zero, or at least be reduced compared to prior art force transfer solutions. Thus, the transverse forces on the camshaft and therefore on e.g. bearings supporting the camshaft are reduced thereby the lifetime of the bearings is prolonged.
Engine
An engine including a main fuel injection valve, a pilot fuel injection valve, a liquid fuel supply rail pipe, and a pilot fuel supply rail pipe. The main fuel injection valve supplies liquid fuel from the liquid fuel supply rail pipe to a combustion chamber during combustion in a diffusion combustion system. The pilot fuel injection valve supplies pilot fuel from the pilot fuel supply rail pipe to the combustion chamber in order to ignite gaseous fuel during combustion in a premixed combustion system. The liquid fuel supply rail pipe is disposed at one side of an imaginary vertical plane including an axis of a crank shaft. The pilot fuel supply rail pipe is disposed at the side of the imaginary vertical plane at which the liquid fuel supply rail pipe is disposed.
SIDE PART STRUCTURE OF ENGINE
A side part structure of an engine having cylinders lined up in a front-and-rear direction of a vehicle body, is provided. The structure includes auxiliary machinery disposed in a front part of one side wall part of the engine in a vehicle width direction, a fuel system component disposed in a rear part of the side wall part, an intercooler disposed between the auxiliary machinery and the fuel system component, and a first protector member disposed between the intercooler and the fuel system component. At least a front part of the first protector member is formed so as to be separated from the side wall part as it extends rearward. A front part of the intercooler is disposed rearward of the auxiliary machinery and the intercooler is disposed along the first protector member so as to be separated from the side wall part as it extends rearward.
Protector and method for manufacturing protector
A protector protects a high-pressure fuel pump of an internal combustion engine. The protector and the high-pressure fuel pump are fastened to an engine body by a bolt inserted through a metal collar. The protector further includes an elastic insulating layer located between the collar and a carbon fiber reinforced plastic portion. The collar is embedded in the carbon fiber reinforced plastic portion with the insulating layer compressed.

Saddle riding vehicle
A saddle riding vehicle includes: a body frame; a fuel tank; an upright internal combustion engine; a fuel injection device; and a high-pressure fuel pump. The high-pressure fuel pump is configured to be driven by one of an intake-side camshaft and an exhaust-side camshaft. The high-pressure fuel pump is mounted on an upper surface of a cylinder head cover in an attitude inclined rearward toward the other of the camshafts. The high-pressure fuel pump can thus be protected from disturbances from the sides, and the length of a high-pressure pipe for feeding fuel from the high-pressure fuel pump to the fuel injection device can be shortened. The vehicle protects the high-pressure fuel pump from disturbances from the sides, and prevents acceleration of vaporization of fuel by reducing heat which the high-pressure fuel pump receives from the cylinder block.

Fuel pump mounting
Methods and systems are provided for mounting a fuel pump to a cylinder head of an engine. In one example, a mounting system may comprise: an engine fuel pump mounted directly to a cylinder head cap positioned underneath a cam cover, the cap including a raised portion having a first and a second cap mounting boss, and a main opening for directly receiving the fuel pump, wherein each of the first and second cap mounting bosses couple to a flange formed on a bottom portion of the fuel pump. In this way, the fuel pump may be directly mounted to the cylinder head cap to simplify assembly, minimize fuel leakage and reduce pump vibration.

Saddled vehicle
A saddled vehicle includes: a fuel injection valve mounted in a cylinder head from one side surface of the cylinder head and injecting fuel toward a combustion chamber; and a fuel pump that supplies fuel to the fuel injection valve in response to a generated pump pressure. The fuel pump is disposed in a space between main frames and a down frame and in the one side surface of the cylinder head. Accordingly, there is provided a layout of the fuel pump capable of sufficiently protecting the fuel pump without a need to restrict a position of an internal combustion engine.
