FUEL INJECTION DEVICE
20190360441 · 2019-11-28 ·

A fuel injection device includes a valve mechanism and a drive unit. The valve mechanism includes a first control valve body driven by a drive unit to open and close an outflow opening portion, a hydraulically actuated valve body for opening and closing an inflow opening portion by a pressure difference, and a second control valve body driven by the drive unit through the first control valve body. When a first drive energy is input to the drive unit, the second control valve body maintains a seated state on the hydraulically actuated valve body. When the second drive energy is input to the drive unit, the second control valve body is unseated from the hydraulically actuated valve body. According to the seating and unseating of the second control valve body, a flow channel area of a communication passage for communicating an upper control chamber portion with a lower control chamber portion is switched to another.

The invention relates to a high-pressure connection device (50) for a high-pressure fuel pump (10), having the following: an outlet device (18) for discharging fuel (14) from the high-pressure fuel pump (10); a connection device (22) for connecting the outlet device (18) to elements arranged downstream of the outlet device; a welding seam (30) for connecting the outlet device (18) and the connection device (22); and a pretensioning device (52) for exerting a pretension force (F.sub.v) onto the welding seam (30) in the direction of the outlet device (18). The invention further relates to a high-pressure fuel pump (10) which has such a high-pressure connection device (50) and to a method for producing such a high-pressure connection device (50).

Fuel pump mounting

Methods and systems are provided for mounting a fuel pump to a cylinder head of an engine. In one example, a mounting system may comprise: an engine fuel pump mounted directly to a cylinder head cap positioned underneath a cam cover, the cap including a raised portion having a first and a second cap mounting boss, and a main opening for directly receiving the fuel pump, wherein each of the first and second cap mounting bosses couple to a flange formed on a bottom portion of the fuel pump. In this way, the fuel pump may be directly mounted to the cylinder head cap to simplify assembly, minimize fuel leakage and reduce pump vibration.

Gear driven diesel fuel injection pump of an engine

Methods and systems are provided for a gear driven diesel fuel injection pump of an engine. In one example, a front end of an engine includes an idler gear in meshing engagement with a first end of a crankshaft and a fuel pump drive gear in meshing engagement with the idler gear. The front end of the engine may further include a fuel pump, where an input shaft of the fuel pump is directly coupled to the fuel pump drive gear.

Coupling device and rotational phase adjustment method for coupling device

A coupling device configured to transmit a rotational force between a first shaft and a second shaft, the device including a first coupling member mounted on the first shaft, a second coupling member mounted on the second shaft, and an intermediate member disposed between the first coupling member and the second coupling member, and configured to allow misalignment between the first shaft and the second shaft. The second coupling member includes a base member configured to be fixed to the intermediate member by a first fastening device, and a shaft mounting member configured to relatively non-rotatably be mounted on the second shaft, the shaft mounting member having a long hole extending along a circumferential direction of the above-described axis and being configured to detachably be fixed to the base member by a second fastening device inserted through the long hole.

An improved fuel injection pump is provided for an internal combustion engine (e.g., diesel engine), and is configured such that the secondary hand pump of the prior art can be eliminated. To achieve this result, the injection pump employs a one-way bearing or clutch on the input side of the drive shaft of the injection pump. By employing a one-way bearing or clutch, such as of the concentric roller type, or other suitable clutch, the fuel injection pump can be operated by direct coupling of the engine and the drive shaft of the fuel injection pump. Also with this configuration, once the engine is stopped, the drive shaft of the fuel injection pump can be manually driven in order to prime the system. Accordingly, by locating a one-way bearing or similar clutch device along the driveline of the fuel injection pump, the fuel injection pump can be both manually operated when the engine is shut off and automatically driven when the engine is running.
