Energy-storing-type high-pressure electric fuel pump, fuel-supplying apparatus, and application method therefor
An energy-storing-type high-pressure electric fuel pump includes an electromagnetic driving apparatus and a plunger sleeve cylinder component. The plunger sleeve cylinder component includes a high-pressure volume, a plunger sleeve having a plunger hole, and a plunger capable of sliding within the plunger hole. A clearance volume of the plunger in the plunger hole is a high-pressure fuel chamber. A clearance volume between the electromagnetic driving apparatus and the plunger sleeve cylinder component forms a low-pressure fuel chamber. Under the action of the electromagnetic driving apparatus, the plunger sleeve cylinder component sucks a fuel in the low-pressure fuel chamber into the high-pressure fuel chamber and pressure-feeds the fuel into the high-pressure volume. The electromagnetic driving apparatus includes an energy storage apparatus, a movable part, and a still part.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING A FUEL SYSTEM
An example system includes a controller configured to: receive pressure information indicative of a pressure level of the pressurized fuel between an electro-mechanical valve and an engine; based on the pressure level being below a first threshold pressure, send a first signal to open the electro-mechanical valve; determine, based on the pressure information, that the pressure level is increasing upon sending the first signal; in response to the pressure level increasing, send a second signal to activate a pump; determine that the pressure level has increased to a second threshold pressure; and provide information indicating that the engine is ready for operation.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING A FUEL SYSTEM
An example system includes a controller configured to: receive pressure information indicative of a pressure level of the pressurized fuel between an electro-mechanical valve and an engine; based on the pressure level being below a first threshold pressure, send a first signal to open the electro-mechanical valve; determine, based on the pressure information, that the pressure level is increasing upon sending the first signal; in response to the pressure level increasing, send a second signal to activate a pump; determine that the pressure level has increased to a second threshold pressure; and provide information indicating that the engine is ready for operation.

The estimating process includes: estimating the pressure in the first fuel storage member based on a detection value of a pressure sensor that detects the pressure in the first fuel storage member and a cycle of pulsation in the first fuel storage member, which is determined in accordance with an interval of fuel injections in a first bank; and estimating the pressure in the second fuel storage member by assuming that a phase of a periodic fluctuation of the pressure in the second fuel storage member and a phase of a periodic fluctuation of the pressure in the first fuel storage member are in antiphase.

A fuel injection control device includes processing circuitry, which executes an estimating process to estimate pressure in first and second fuel storage members connected to first and second fuel injection valves. The estimating process includes: estimating the pressure in the first fuel storage member based on a detection value of a pressure sensor that detects the pressure in the first fuel storage member and a cycle of pulsation in the first fuel storage member, which is determined in accordance with an interval of fuel injections in a first bank; and estimating the pressure in the second fuel storage member by assuming that a phase of a periodic fluctuation of the pressure in the second fuel storage member and a phase of a periodic fluctuation of the pressure in the first fuel storage member are in antiphase.

A solenoid assembly includes a solenoid having a coil, a current sensor configured to measure the coil current, and a controller. The controller estimates the coil current using a solenoid model, with output of the solenoid model being an estimated coil current, and receives the measured coil current from the current sensor. The controller also calculates an error value having an error sign by subtracting the estimated coil current from the measured coil current. Responsive to the error value exceeding a calibrated error threshold while the control voltage deviates from a nominal value, the controller diagnoses a solenoid fault condition. Responsive to diagnosing the solenoid fault condition, the controller isolates or identifies a particular solenoid fault condition from among a plurality of possible fault conditions, and records a diagnostic code indicative of the particular solenoid fault condition.
