Direct injection multipoint nozzle
Provided is an injector (30) having a plurality of injector modules (44) that include a spray cup having a chamber and a plurality of radial air passages for directing air radially into the chamber, and a pressure swirl atomizer attached to the spray cup and having a fluid passage for directing fluid axially into chamber and an air passage for directing air axially into the chamber. By providing radial and axial air flow and axial fuel flow into the chamber, the fuel may be mixed to prevent local hot spots that lead to high NOx emissions, and a stable flame may be maintained without autoignition and flashback. The axial air flow also prevents recirculation zones from forming at a base of the spray cup, provides improved atomization and enhanced combustion.
Internal combustion engine
An internal combustion engine includes a control unit determining the occurrence or non-occurrence of dew condensation in a tip portion of a nozzle based on a nozzle heat receiving amount of an injector and a nozzle tip temperature of the injector at a point in time when ignition is turned OFF and performing nozzle corrosion prevention control when the dew condensation is determined to occur in the nozzle tip portion. The control unit calculates a nozzle tip temperature reduction rate based on the nozzle heat receiving amount, calculates a dew point arrival time based on the reduction rate, and determines the occurrence or non-occurrence of the dew condensation in the nozzle tip portion based on the dew point arrival time.

INJECTOR ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates to an injector arrangement (1) having an injector nozzle (2) for injecting medium into a combustion chamber (3), particularly for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber (3) of an internal combustion engine, and having a sealing ring (20), which is pre-loaded in order to seal against a sealing surface (6) of a cylinder head (4), which comprises a through-hole (5), through which the injection nozzle (2) protrudes into the combustion chamber (3) and in which, in the radial direction between the injection nozzle (2) and the cylinder head (4), a heat protection sleeve (10) is arranged, one end (11) of which, facing the combustion chamber (3), is frictionally connected to the injection nozzle (2) by a radial pressing (12). In order to functionally improve the injector arrangement (1), an end (13) of the heat protection sleeve (10) furthest from the combustion chamber (3) is frictionally connected to the sealing ring (20) by an axial pressing (14).

Injector sleeve assembly and method for field repair procedure
A retaining ring configured for in-field repair of a fuel injector sleeve upper seal leak, comprising: a circular side wall comprising a barrel-shaped outer surface and a substantially cylindrical inner surface; wherein the outer surface comprises a lower curved portion and a central portion having a curvature that is less pronounced than the lower curved portion; and wherein the lower curved portion is configured to guide the retaining ring into the fuel injector sleeve and the circular side wall has an outer diameter at the central portion that is larger than an inner diameter of the fuel injector sleeve at a location of the upper seal leak such that the retaining ring forces the fuel injector sleeve outwardly at the location of the upper seal leak as the retaining ring is moved into an installed position.
Injector
A liquid coolant injector for injecting a liquid coolant into a cylinder of a split cycle engine, wherein the liquid coolant has been condensed into a liquid phase via a refrigeration process, the injector comprising, a thermally insulating housing, a liquid coolant inlet, a liquid coolant outlet in fluid communication with the liquid coolant inlet via a liquid coolant flow path wherein the liquid coolant flow path extends through the thermally insulating housing, the thermally insulating housing configured to inhibit vaporisation of the liquid coolant within the liquid coolant flow path, a valve closure member, moveable between a first position in which the valve closure member blocks the liquid coolant flow path and a second position in which the liquid coolant may flow from the liquid coolant inlet to the liquid coolant outlet, and, a driver operable to move the valve closure member between the first and second position in response to a control signal.
