20200370522 · 2020-11-26 · ·

A fuel injector includes an injector body and a valve stack within the injector body that includes a valve seat plate. The valve seat plate includes a pressure control passage for controlling fuel injection, and a valve seat positioned fluidly between the pressure control passage and a low-pressure drain. The valve seat plate includes a pressure-limiting annular groove that extends circumferentially around the valve seat and axially inward from a side of the valve seat plate where the valve seat is located. The groove enables deformation in response to pressure differences across the valve seat plate in a manner that limits stress concentrations.

Disclosed herein is a pulsation damper using a single-sided corrugated disk spring. In the pulsation damper using a single-sided corrugated disk spring, a section-expanded fuel rail inlet expanded to be equal to a section of a high-pressure fuel pipe is formed in an inlet-expanded fuel rail and a single-sided corrugated spring pulsation damper is attached to the inlet-expanded fuel rail, so that high-pressure fuel pump pulsating waves generated in the inlet-expanded fuel rail by a high-pressure fuel pump and injector pulsating waves generated in a fuel injector are mixed with each other and mixed pulsating waves generated in the inlet-expanded fuel rail are reduced.

A ring installation device for installing a ring to a part includes an inner mandrel which is tapered in order to expand the ring. An outer mandrel is tubular such that the inner mandrel is received within the outer mandrel and such that the inner mandrel is moveable within the outer mandrel along an axis. A ring stripper is tubular such that the outer mandrel is receive within the ring stripper and such that the outer mandrel is moveable within the inner mandrel along the axis. The inner mandrel is moveable along the axis relative to the outer mandrel and the ring stripper from an inner mandrel first position to an inner mandrel second position. The outer mandrel is moveable by the inner mandrel along the axis relative to the ring stripper from an outer mandrel first position to an outer mandrel second position.

Sealing cartridge for an injector of an internal combustion engine, and injector assembly for an internal combustion engine

A sealing cartridge (18) for an injector of an internal combustion engine seals a medium-filled first chamber (6) and a medium-filled second chamber (7). The chambers (6, 7) are between an injector (1) that is movable axially along an injector axis (9) and a housing (2) receives the injector (1). The sealing cartridge (18) is configured to receive the injector (1). The sealing cartridge (18) has at least one seal (11; 20) disposed in a receptacle housing (19) of the sealing cartridge (18). The receptacle housing (19) has a first housing portion (29) configured to receive the seal (11; 20) on the shell face (31) of the receptacle housing (19), and a second housing portion (30) configured to receive the seal (11; 20) on an internal face (25). An injector assembly (38) also is provided and has an injector (1) that is received in the sealing cartridge (18).

Sealing structure for gaseous fuel

In metal-on-metal sealing structures, the sealing criteria employed for high pressure liquid fuel does not work when sealing gaseous fuels. A technique for sealing a gaseous fuel between gaseous fuel conduits in an internal combustion engine includes forming a contact band between two surfaces of a sealing structure between a first conduit and a second conduit. A width of the contact band is at least equal to the larger of a minimum contact pressure width where contact pressure is at least equal to a predetermined minimum contact pressure; and a minimum yield zone width where at least one of the two surfaces have plastically deformed.
