LIQUID FUEL INJECTOR HAVING DUAL NOZZLE OUTLET SETS, FUEL SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A liquid fuel injector for a fuel system in an internal combustion engine includes two injection control valves for controlling two outlet checks. A common nozzle supply cavity is fluidly connected to an inlet passage and supplies each of the two sets of nozzle outlets opened and closed by the outlet checks. A first nozzle outlet set forms a narrower spray angle and has a first combination of outlet number and outlet size, and a second nozzle outlet set forms a wider spray angle and has a second combination of outlet number and outlet size. The first nozzle outlet set has a greater steady flow than the second nozzle outlet set.
Driveshaft assembly with indexing means
A driveshaft assembly, for example in an Electronic Unit Injector, Unit Injector or Electronic Unit Pump testing machine, wherein an indexing arrangement, such as complementary external and internal splines, enables a cam to be mounted on a shaft at a number of discreet positions, each providing a different offset of a central axis of the base cylinder section from a central axis of the shaft, each position providing a different maximum lift value of a plunger in contact with the cam, directly or via a rocker arm.
Injecting apparatus and method of using an injecting apparatus
An injecting apparatus for injecting a fluid under pressure into an associated chamber, the injecting apparatus including: a body, a piston movable in the body under the action of fluid pressure in the associated chamber acting from externally against the piston, the piston being operable to compress fluid to be injected in a high pressure chamber, the piston being movable against the action of fluid pressure in a control chamber whereby movement of the piston is selectively controllable by controlling the fluid in the control chamber, an injector valve and an associated injector orifice in selective fluid communication with the high pressure chamber whereby high pressure fluid from the high pressure chamber can be injected through the injector orifice upon opening of the injection valve.

Stand-alone common rail capable injector system
A fuel system is disclosed for use with an engine, including a fuel injector assembly fluidly coupled with a low-pressure fuel conduit, an accumulator, and a cap within an opening in the accumulator. The fuel injector assembly may be structured to draw in low-pressure fuel, pressurize the fuel, and store the pressurized fuel in the accumulator for injection to a combustion chamber. The cap has a pressure sensor and a pressure relief valve therein, and drains fuel leaked past fluid seals between the cap and each of the pressure sensor, the pressure relief valve, and the accumulator by way of a common drain line.
Fuel injector assembly having a case designed for solenoid cooling
A fuel injector assembly is disclosed. The fuel injector assembly may include a case that encloses a solenoid assembly. The fuel injector assembly may include one or more inlet passages, positioned on the case, to permit fluid to enter the case to cool the solenoid assembly. The fuel injector assembly may include one or more outlet passages, positioned on the case, to permit fluid to exit the case. The fuel injector assembly may include an annular protrusion positioned around a circumference of the case between the one or more inlet passages and the one or more outlet passages.
Fuel injector body with counterbore insert
An insert for use with a fuel injector comprises a shaft including a substantially cylindrical configuration defining a shaft cylindrical axis, a shaft radial direction, and a shaft diameter; and a head including a substantially cylindrical configuration defining a head cylindrical axis, a head radial direction, and a head diameter. The shaft and head may be attached to each other, the shaft cylindrical axis and the head cylindrical axis may be parallel to each other, the head diameter may be greater than the shaft diameter, and the shaft cylindrical axis may be spaced away from the head cylindrical axis.
