Reinforced end cap assembly for pressure vessel
A fuel rail or pressure vessel assembly extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a fluid conduit having an opening at either or both of the longitudinal ends of the conduit. The conduit has an inlet coupled to a high-pressure fuel source, a plurality of outlets, and a conduit interior that forms a fluid flow passageway between inlet and outlets. An end cap assembly is mounted to cover and close each fluid conduit opening. The end cap assembly includes a cup having a free edge that defines an aperture that leads to a cup interior. The cup has an inner surface facing the conduit interior. The end cap assembly also includes a reinforcement that is mounted to the inner surface of the cup. Both the cup and the reinforcement can be stamped metal components and are brazed together.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INJECTION OPENINGS AND FUEL INJECTOR HAVING SUCH INJECTION OPENINGS
A method for manufacturing injection openings of a fuel injector, including: manufacturing a prechamber with the aid of a mechanical, cutting method, in particular with the aid of milling or drilling or with the aid of laser ablation, producing a radius at the transition of the prechamber between a prechamber wall and a prechamber base with the aid of a laser, and/or introducing grooves into the prechamber wall and/or the prechamber base, and manufacturing a spray hole in the prechamber base.
Fuel distribution rail
A fuel distribution rail for a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine has connected base tube sections defining a longitudinal fuel channel with connector devices fixed on the base tube and a force relieving groove provided on the outer surface of the base tube sections spaced from the connector devices which extend over at least a part, preferably at least over a greater part of the outer surface of the base tube. In one form a cylindrical base tube has a circular force relieving groove surrounding the base tube spaced from the connector device.
FUEL PUMP
A pump for a fuel injection system comprises: a main housing; a plunger housing arranged to be coupled to the main housing; and a gasket for arrangement between first and second opposed faces of the main housing and the plunger housing, in assembly, so as to seal a compression chamber defined between the main housing and the plunger housing as the gasket is compressed therebetween. The main housing comprises a valve bore extending to the first face of the main housing for supplying fuel to the compression chamber, and the plunger housing comprises a plunger bore extending to the opposing second face of the plunger housing, defining a central axis of the compression chamber. In assembly, a central axis of the valve bore is radially offset from the central axis of the compression chamber such that a stiffness of the main housing varies circumferentially around the compression chamber.
SOLENOID VALVE
In order to reduce the friction of a dry-running solenoid valve (1) with a valve housing (2), in which an electric coil (3) and a magnet armature (5) are arranged, and with a valve element (8) which can be actuated by the magnet armature (5) in an axial actuating direction for opening and closing the solenoid valve (1), in which the coil (3) generates a magnetic flux which, when the solenoid valve (1) is actuated, flows via a magnetically conductive valve housing outer wall (2c) of the valve housing (2) to the magnet armature (5), it is provided according to the invention that a magnetically conductive flux element (12) be provided in the valve housing (2) and introduce at least 80%, preferably at least 90%, and particularly preferably 100%, of the magnetic flux flowing over the valve housing outer wall (2c) into an armature end face (5B), facing the coil (3), of the magnet armature (5).
