A boundary between the stationary core and the magnetic-flux limiting portion is defined as a limiting boundary, and an imaginary extension line, which is formed by extending the limiting boundary toward the movable core, is defined as a boundary extension line. The limiting boundary is tilted relative to the axial direction.

A fuel injection valve includes: a coil; a stationary core to generate a magnetic force; a movable structure including a moving core and a valve body and internally having a movable flow passage; and a body that internally accommodates the movable structure and internally has a part of the flow passage. The movable structure includes a throttle portion at which a passage area of the movable flow passage is partially throttled. The flow passage includes a throttle flow passage defined by the throttle portion and a separate flow passage between the movable structure and the body. A passage area of the separate flow passage is smaller than a passage area of the throttle flow passage. A position of the separate flow passage in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the movable structure is different from an outermost peripheral position of the moving core.

A movable core is driven by a magnetic attraction force with a fixed core to move a valve body to inject fuel. A yoke accommodates the fixed core. A coil is in a coil chamber between the fixed core and the yoke. The coil chamber is filled with a filling resin member being electrically insulative. The fixed core has a core facing surface facing the movable core and includes a protruding portion that protrudes radially outer side and is in contact with the yoke to conduct the magnetic flux. A resin molding flow channel is formed in the protruding portion to cause molten resin serving as the filling resin member to flow into the coil chamber. A length of the protruding portion along a cylinder center line is set to be shorter toward a radially outer side.

An inlet valve assembly for a fuel pump comprises a valve assembly inflow path and valve assembly outflow path; a magnetic valve member situated in an intermediate flow path fluidly linking the inflow path and the outflow path; a magnetic pole adjacent the valve member; and a selectively energizable coil for generating a magnetic flux directly magnetically coupling the pole and the valve member; whereby the valve member opens and closes fluid communication between the inflow path and the outflow path in response to the energized state of the coil.

Fluid injector

A fluid injector for a combustion engine has a tubular body which hydraulically connects a fluid inlet end of the injector to a fluid outlet end of the injector. A magnetic core is affixed inside the body, a solenoid is disposed on the outside of the body, and an axially moveable armature is disposed inside the body. A valve assembly controls an axial flow of fluid through the body. The valve assembly has a valve needle to be operated by the armature and a sleeve of diamagnetic material which is located radially between the armature and the body.
