DUAL FUEL NOZZLE ARRANGEMENT
A nozzle assembly of a dual fuel injector includes a first fuel conduit and a second fuel conduit. An anti-leakage feature of the nozzle assembly includes a cylindrical tubular sleeve axially extending in an inner space of the nozzle body from an upper end attached to the body to a distant lower end, the outer valve member being axially guided through said sleeve.
Injector Cup, Spring Clip, and Fluid Injection Assembly
Various embodiments include an injector cup comprising: a cup body extending along a central longitudinal axis from a first axial end to a second axial end; a ring adjoining a border of the second axial end and radially extending beyond said border; wherein a base surface of the ring faces away from the first axial end and defines a reference plane extending orthogonally to the longitudinal axis; the ring comprises two wings, wherein each wing includes a free end section extending bent away from the reference plane at a side of the reference plane facing towards the cup body, wherein the two wings are spaced from each other; and a through opening in the ring disposed between the two wings.
ARRANGEMENT
Arrangement comprising: a chamber that is formed between a first receptacle and a second receptacle for a rod-shaped element, wherein the receptacles open out to the chamber on opposite end-face sides thereof; a rod-shaped element that is accommodated in the receptacles via a respective section with radial play, in this regard with a receptacle radial play, the rod-shaped element passing through the chamber; and an annular body that is situated in the chamber and through which the rod-shaped element passes with radial play, in this regard an annular body radial play, wherein the annular body radial play is less than the receptacle radial play, wherein the arrangement has a first media side and a second media side that are connected to the chamber via the first receptacle and second receptacle, respectively, wherein the annular body is provided to be pressed into contact against an end-face side of the chamber.
Gas admission valve including seal redundancy, and method of sealing a gas admission valve
Gas admission valve assembly includes a housing, an elongated valve guide disposed within a central bore of the housing, a valve including a valve stem slidably disposed within the valve guide and a valve head selectively engagable with a valve seat of the housing to control flow between gas entry and exit openings into a housing entry chamber. First and second stem seals are disposed at opposite ends of the valve guide in sealing engagement with the valve stem between the valve stem and the central bore of the housing distally and the valve guide proximally.
GAS INJECTOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A GAS INJECTOR
A gas injector for injecting a gaseous fuel. The gas injector includes: a magnetic actuator including an armature, an internal pole, and a coil; a closing element, which unblocks and closes a gas path at a valve seat, the armature being connected to the closing element; and at least one sealing device for sealing a space in the gas injector, the sealing device including a flexible sealant and at least one stiff intermediate element joined to the sealant, the at least one intermediate element being welded to a further component of the gas injector, the flexible sealant and the intermediate element being made from at least one first material, and the further component including a second material at least at the surface, and the at least one first material of the flexible sealant and of the intermediate element differing from the second material.
KIT FOR PROTECTING AT LEAST ONE SEAL INSTALLED IN A TRANSFER FUEL PUMP
A kit for protecting at least one seal installed in a cavity of a transfer fuel pump, the cavity comprising an opening for receiving a shaft inside the cavity. The kit comprises a first tool and a second tool, the first tool comprising a first handle and a first protective portion, the second tool comprising a second handle and a second protective portion, and the first and the second protective portions being shaped to be inserted in the cavity of the transfer fuel pump while receiving the shaft inside said cavity.
DUAL FUEL SYSTEM HAVING DUAL FUEL INJECTOR AND ENGINE OPERATING METHOD
A dual fuel system for an internal combustion engine includes a first fuel supply of a liquid pilot fuel, a primary fuel supply of a liquid primary fuel, and a dual fuel injector. The dual fuel injector includes a spill valve fluidly connected with a plunger cavity and movable to control a start of injection and an end of injection, and an admission valve. The admission valve is movable to admit a pilot fuel into the fuel injector, such that the pilot fuel is conveyed through an outlet check to form, within a primary fuel passage fluidly connected to the plunger cavity, a segmented fuel charge of leading pilot fuel and trailing primary fuel by displacing some of the primary fuel. The liquid pilot fuel may be a higher cetane/lower octane liquid fuel, and the primary fuel may be a lower cetane/higher octane liquid fuel.
Control valve assembly
A subassembly for a high pressure fuel injector control valve includes a control valve member and a sleeve attached to a stem of the control valve member, the sleeve extending along at least a partial axial length of the stem of the control valve member, and wherein a clearance, provided between the sleeve and the control valve member, is in fluid communication with the control chamber such that during use, pressure compensation occurs, as the sleeve is caused to expand and seal against the control valve bore, thereby preventing leakage of fuel within the control valve assembly.
Fuel injector having valve stack with vented back-up plate for check seal retention
A fuel injector includes a valve stack forming a seal cavity, and an outlet check extending through the seal cavity. A check seal is positioned within the seal cavity and seals about the outlet check. The valve stack also includes a back-up plate trapping the check seal within the seal cavity, such that a crevice is formed within the seal cavity between the check seal and the back-up plate. The back-up plate has a vent formed therein that fluidly connects the crevice to a drain.
