PROTECTOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PROTECTOR
A protector protects a high-pressure fuel pump of an internal combustion engine. The protector and the high-pressure fuel pump are fastened to an engine body by a bolt inserted through a metal collar. The protector further includes an elastic insulating layer located between the collar and a carbon fiber reinforced plastic portion. The collar is embedded in the carbon fiber reinforced plastic portion with the insulating layer compressed.
Injector assembly and method of using same
An assembly at least comprising a fuel injector for dual fuel operation of an internal combustion engine. The assembly includes a nozzle holder defining a fuel circuit and provided with a nose adapted in use to be in connection with a combustion space of an internal combustion engine, and first and second nozzles in communication with the fuel circuit in the nozzle holder for directly injecting liquid fuel into the combustion space of the internal combustion engine for ignition of a combustible mixture present in the combustion space. The first and second nozzles adjacent to the nose of the nozzle holder are interconnected by a cooling channel. At each actuation of a fuel pump upstream of the first and second nozzles, substantially a full volume of fuel pumped during actuation of the fuel pump is allowed to flow through the cooling channel and via the first and second nozzles.
ENGINE
An engine (21) including a main fuel injection valve (79), a pilot fuel injection valve (82), a liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42), and a pilot fuel supply rail pipe (47). The main fuel injection valve (79) supplies liquid fuel from the liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42) to a combustion chamber (110) during combustion in a diffusion combustion system. The pilot fuel injection valve (82) supplies pilot fuel from the pilot fuel supply rail pipe (47) to the combustion chamber (110) in order to ignite gaseous fuel during combustion in a premixed combustion system. The liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42) is disposed at one side of an imaginary vertical plane (P1) including an axis of a crank shaft. The pilot fuel supply rail pipe (47) is disposed at the side of the imaginary vertical plane (P1) at which the liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42) is disposed.
Fuel system cover for an internal combustion engine
A fuel system cover is provided for an internal combustion engine. The fuel system cover is configured to be mounted on the cylinder head assembly to encapsulate a portion of the fuel system to provide leak prevention, mitigation, and detection capabilities.
FLOW RESTRICTOR FOR AN INJECTOR
The invention relates to a flow restrictor (16) for an injector of a common rail fuel injection system. The flow restrictor (16) has a closure bolt (5) with a high-pressure connection (20), a valve housing (24), a ball (15), and a spring (17). A support seat (28) is formed on the closure bolt (5), and a valve seat is formed on the valve housing (24). The ball (15) is arranged in an axial bore (11a) formed in the valve housing (24) and is acted upon by the spring (17) in the direction of the support seat (28). Upon contacting the support seat (28), the ball (15) releases a hydraulic connection of the high-pressure connection (20) through the axial bore (11a), and upon contacting the valve seat (18), the ball blocks the hydraulic connection. The support seat (28) has an oval contour.
Pressure-limiting valve for a fuel injection system and fuel injection system
A pressure-limiting valve for a fuel injection system includes a housing having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, a sealing seat, and a sealing body configured to move between a closed position in which the sealing body is in contact with the sealing seat, which blocks fluid flow from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, and additional positions that permit such fluid flow, and a holding device for keeping the sealing body in one of the additional positions if the sealing body is moved at least a specified distance away from the sealing seat.
High-Pressure Fuel Pump And Fuel Injection System
Various embodiments may include a fuel pump for applying pressure to a fuel in a fuel injection system comprising: a housing with a pressure chamber; a fluid port for conducting fuel to and/or from the pressure chamber; a port receiving bore in the housing for receiving the fluid port; and a screw drive arranged in the internal bore of the fluid port, via which the fluid port can be acted on in order to be screwed into the port receiving bore. The fluid port has an internal bore fluidically connected to the pressure chamber. The fluid port is fastened in the port receiving bore with a screw connection.

Cover of an internal combustion engine assembly having a common rail, engine assembly and automotive vehicle including such a cover
A cover for an internal combustion engine assembly that includes a pressurized fuel accumulator feeding fuel to at least one injector is provided, the cover defining, with a cylinder head, a volume designed to receive the common rail and the injector. The cover borders a first sub-volume, designed to receive the injector, and a second sub-volume separated from the first sub-volume by a separation wall of the cover and designed to receive the common rail. The cover includes a frame to be fitted on the cylinder head and a cap removably fitted on the frame. The separation wall is designed for the passage of a fuel connection connecting the injector to the common rail.
TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE VALVE
