BREATHING CIRCUIT SYSTEMS AND DEVICES
A filter device includes a distal housing comprising a distal inner port and a distal outer port; a proximal housing comprising a proximal inner port and a proximal outer port, the proximal housing being sealingly affixed to the distal housing to form an inspiratory pathway between the distal inner port and the proximal inner port and to form an expiratory pathway between the distal outer port and the proximal outer port that is fluidly sealed from the inspiratory pathway, the inspiratory pathway being laterally adjacent the expiratory pathway; and a first filter in the inspiratory pathway or in the expiratory pathway to filter gases flowing through the inspiratory pathway or the expiratory pathway.
TUBE AND/OR PATIENT INTERFACE FOR DELIVERY OF GAS
A tube 174 for delivery of gases to a patient interface and for treatment of expiratory gases. The tube has an inspiratory conduit 170 for directing a flow of gas toward a patient interface, an expiratory conduit 173 for directing a flow of gas from the patient interface 100 and a filter 140 in fluid communication with, or part of, the expiratory conduit 140. The filter 140 is configured to filter the flow of expiratory gases from the patent interface 100 before passage of the flow of expiratory gases from the patient interface into ambient air.
ARTICLES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR THE INJECTION OF VISCOUS FLUIDS
Disclosed herein are articles, systems, and methods for the injection of viscous fluids. For example, inventive articles, systems, and methods for injecting viscous fluids, such as concentrated drug formulations, via droplet lubrication are described.
FILTERING SYRINGE
The present invention relates to a filtering syringe, and more particularly, to an apparatus obtained by improving a syringe provided with a filter means for filtering foreign substances such as glass fragments of an ampoule, so as to prevent an injection needle or an injection flow passage from being contaminated with the foreign substances while allowing a liquid medicine to be smoothly sucked with a smaller force. The filtering syringe is configured such that the injection needle or the injection flow passage is isolated from the suction flow passage which is upstream of the filter means and in which the foreign substances may remain together with the liquid medicine, thereby allowing the liquid medicine to be sucked with a force less than that required for a conventional syringe and thus maximizing user's convenience and marketability of the syringe.
Infusion catheter tip for biologics with reinforced external balloon valve
A system for moving particles suspended in a first fluid, and for infusing them into the stream of a second fluid, includes a catheter with a multi-lumen distal separator. The separator is formed with a plurality of parallel lumens, wherein each lumen has a predetermined diameter to reduce particle flocculation. An inflatable balloon, affixed to the outside of the catheter, can be provided to regulate flow of the second fluid and thereby facilitate entry of the particles into the stream of the second fluid. A reinforcing member is employed to strengthen the catheter wall under the inflatable balloon. With this arrangement, the catheter does not kink or collapse due to the pressure exerted on the catheter wall when the balloon is inflated. In one embodiment, the reinforcing member includes an annular shaped ring. In another embodiment, the separator is positioned under the balloon and acts as the reinforcing member.
DUAL-BARREL INJECTOR AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Articles such as dual-barrel injectors are generally described. Associated systems and methods are also described. In some embodiments, the articles are useful for injecting viscous fluids, such as concentrated drug formulations. In certain embodiments, the article comprises a first conduit (e.g., for transporting a viscous fluid) and a second conduit (e.g., for transporting a lubricating fluid). In some embodiments, the fluid from the second conduit (e.g., a lubricating fluid) lubricates the flow of the fluid from the first conduit (e.g., a viscous drug) by surrounding the fluid from the first conduit, and the lower viscosity of the fluid from the second conduit allows the fluid from the first conduit to flow more easily through the system.
Flow regulating inhaler device
An inhaler device for pulmonary delivery of at least one substance from a drug dose cartridge to an inhaling user, including: a first conduit for conducting a carrier airflow to a proximal opening of a mouthpiece for use by the user; a holder configured to position the dose cartridge within the carrier airflow; and a second conduit for conducting a shunting airflow to the mouthpiece without passing through the dose cartridge position. A controller connected to a valve controls a rate of carrier airflow, for example by controlling the shunting airflow, based on a sensor indication of airflow rate and a target airflow profile.
FLAVORING ELEMENT FOR AN INHALATION DEVICE
A device for adding a flavor and/or cough suppressant component to an inhaler is described. The device includes a housing having an interior chamber, wherein the housing includes at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet connected to the interior chamber, thereby forming an airflow pathway through the interior chamber, and at least one flavoring and/or cough suppressant component positioned within the interior chamber, wherein the housing is attachable to an exterior surface of an inhaler having at least one air inlet, such that the at least one air outlet of the device aligns with the at least one air inlet of the inhaler to form an airflow path through the device and into the inhaler.
Cartridge systems useful in cleaning dialysis solutions
Sorbent cartridge systems useful in regenerating or purifying dialysis solutions are described as well as methods to regenerate or purify spent dialysis solutions. Dialysis systems using the sorbent cartridge system of the present invention are further described.
VENTILATOR AEROSOL DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH TRANSITION ADAPTER FOR INTRODUCING CARRIER GAS
A transition adapter component of a ventilator aerosol delivery system for delivering an aerosol to a patient, includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end having an aerosol passage for receiving an aerosol produced by a heated capillary and a gas connection port for receiving carrier gas from a ventilator, which is in communication with a plurality of gas entry ports within the transition adapter. An inner cavity of the transition adapter receives the aerosol from the heated capillary and the streams of carrier gas from the plurality of gas exit ports within the transition adapter and directs the streams of carrier gas at least partially encircling and in parallel with the aerosol. An exit port on the distal end of the transition adapter housing delivers an entrained aerosol to an aerosol delivery connector.
