Device for metering fuel
The invention relates to a device for metering two different liquid or gaseous fuels, comprising a nozzle element (4) in which a first pressure chamber (6) that can be filled with a first fuel is formed, wherein an outer nozzle needle (10) is received in the pressure chamber in a longitudinally movable manner. The outer nozzle needle (10) is equipped with a second pressure chamber (12) which can be filled with a second fuel and in which an inner nozzle needle (15) is arranged in a longitudinally movable manner, said inner nozzle needle interacting with an inner nozzle seal (16) formed in the outer nozzle needle (10) in older to open and close at least one inner injection opening (17). Furthermore, at least one outer injection opening (13) is provided which can be connected to the first pressure chamber (6), the at least one outer injection opening (13) being formed in the outer nozzle needle (10).
Two step metering solenoid for fluid dispenser
A metering system for a fluid atomizer includes a housing, first and second metering members, and at least one solenoid. The housing includes a mixing chamber. The first metering member is operable to control flow of a first fluid to the mixing chamber. The second metering member is arranged coaxial with the first metering member and operable to control flow of a second fluid to the mixing chamber. The at least one solenoid is configured to operate at least one of the first and second metering members.
Fuel injection valve with a weld ring
The present disclosure relates to internal combustion engines. Various embodiments thereof may include a fuel injection valve for a combustion engine comprising: a valve body with a cavity; a valve needle movable in the cavity; an actuator assembly to actuate the valve needle. The actuator assembly includes an electro-magnetic coil, a pole piece positioned inside the cavity, and an armature element. The armature element moves within the cavity to move the valve needle in a predetermined direction. A fixing ring abutting the pole piece, fixed to the valve body by means of joining to a circumferential surface of the cavity.
LIQUID FUEL INJECTOR HAVING DUAL NOZZLE OUTLET SETS, FUEL SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A liquid fuel injector for a fuel system in an internal combustion engine includes two injection control valves for controlling two outlet checks. A common nozzle supply cavity is fluidly connected to an inlet passage and supplies each of the two sets of nozzle outlets opened and closed by the outlet checks. A first nozzle outlet set forms a narrower spray angle and has a first combination of outlet number and outlet size, and a second nozzle outlet set forms a wider spray angle and has a second combination of outlet number and outlet size. The first nozzle outlet set has a greater steady flow than the second nozzle outlet set.
FUEL SYSTEM FOR REDUCING FUEL TARGETING ERRORS AND ENGINE OPERATING METHOD
Operating an engine includes injecting a first charge of liquid fuel using a first set of nozzle outlets in a fuel injector, and injecting a second charge of liquid fuel using a second set of nozzle outlets in a fuel injector. The first charge is autoignited in a first engine cycle, and the second charge is autoignited in a second engine cycle, and may be used to pilot ignite a charge of gaseous fuel. Operating the engine further includes limiting errors in targeting of the second charge of liquid fuel caused by transitioning the engine from a first combination to a second combination of speed, load, and boost, by varying an injection pressure of the liquid fuel from the first engine cycle to the second engine cycle.
Fuel injector
A fuel injector includes a nozzle including at least one outer orifice. The at least one outer orifice selectively injects a first fuel. An outer check is disposed movably within the nozzle. The outer check includes at least one first orifice and at least one second orifice. The at least one first orifice and the at least one second orifice are disposed circumferentially spaced apart with respect to one another. Each of the at least one first orifice and the at least one second orifice selectively injects a second fuel. An inner check is disposed movably and concentrically within the outer check. The at least one outer orifice is adapted to selectively injects at least one of the first fuel and the second fuel therethrough based on a position of each of the outer check and the inner check.
Fuel injector
A fuel injector includes a nozzle having at least one first orifice. The at least one first orifice selectively injects a first fuel. An outer check is located movably within the nozzle. The outer check includes at least one second orifice. The at least one second orifice selectively injects a second fuel. An inner check is located movably and concentrically within the outer check. The at least one first orifice is adapted to selectively inject at least one of the first fuel and the second fuel therethrough based on a position of each of the outer check and the inner check.
Fuel injector
A fuel injector includes a nozzle having at least one first orifice provided therein. The at least one first orifice is adapted to selectively inject one of a fuel and an oxidant. An outer check is disposed movably within the nozzle. The outer check includes at least one second orifice provided therein. The at least one second orifice is adapted to selectively inject an other of the oxidant and the fuel. An inner check is disposed movably and concentrically within the outer chock. The at least one second orifice is adapted to align with respect to the at least one first orifice to selectively inject the fuel and the oxidant together through the at least one first orifice based on a position of each of the outer check and the inner check.
MULTI-HOLE FUEL INJECTOR WITH TWISTED NOZZLE HOLES
Methods and systems are provided for a multi-hole nozzle of a fuel injector. In one example, a nozzle for a fuel injector may include multiple nozzle holes arranged at a nozzle tip, where each nozzle hole has a straight flow axis and a cross-section that twists around the straight flow axis, from an inlet to an outlet of the nozzle hole. Additionally, a long side of the cross-section may increase in length, along the nozzle hole, from the inlet to the outlet.
Fuel Injector and Nozzle Passages Therefor
A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine. The fuel injector has a needle and a nozzle that inter-relate with each other in assembly. Relative movement between the needle and nozzle bring the fuel injector between a closed state of operation and an open state of operation amid use of the fuel injector. The nozzle has one or more passages therein through which fuel is discharged.
