A bush is disposed on an inner wall of a fixed core. A second spring, which biases a movable core in a valve-closing direction, has one end abutting the bush. The bush is formed separately from the fixed core, and is formed to be movable relative to the fixed core when adjusting a biasing force of the second spring. When a needle is abutting a valve seat, a gap is formed between a movable core first abutting face of the movable core and a flange end face of a flange portion included in the needle. Accordingly, during valve-opening, a relatively large force in a valve-opening direction is applied to the needle. Further, by changing the position of the bush relative to the movable core, the biasing force of the second spring may be adjusted without changing a length of the gap in a central axis direction.

A valve for metering fluid under pressure includes: a valve housing having an inlet opening and a metering opening for the fluid; an outward-opening valve needle pressure equalized via an elastic hollow body which is subject to the fluid pressure; and an electromagnet which lifts the valve needle up from the metering opening against the force of a valve closing spring. The valve housing is assembled from a valve tube and one valve body on the metering end and another on the inlet end, each being connected in a fluid-tight manner to the valve tube at the tube ends. The magnet pot including the enclosed solenoid coil is secured on the valve tube on the outside by the electromagnet, and the magnetic core is secured on the valve tube on the inside in such a way that it surrounds a needle section of the valve needle.

Actuator

The invention relates to an actuator (1) comprising a housing (8), a coil (29) and an armature (2) which interacts with a tappet (30) and a spring, the armature plate (3) thereof being arranged to lie opposite an armature counterpiece (16), and said actuator (1) comprising at least one magnetostrictively-active component. According to the invention, an actuator (1) is provided with which large actuating paths can be travelled at high actuating forces. This is achieved by the actuator (1) additionally being designed to act as a solenoid.

FUEL PUMP SYSTEM OF HYBRID VEHICLE

A fuel pump system of a hybrid vehicle is provided. The fuel pump system prevents a fuel pump from continuing to operate when fuel is exhausted, whereby the fuel pump may be damaged. The pressure of fuel is measured in response to exhaustion of fuel, and when the pressure of fuel is low, fuel is circulated within the fuel pump instead of being supplied to the engine side, thereby preventing the fuel pump from being stuck due to frictional heat.

Valve for metering fluid

A valve for metering fluid is reported which has a valve housing having a valve opening and a valve seat, a valve needle, which is provided for the alternating closing and opening of the valve using a closing member cooperating with the valve seat, a resetting element that acts on the valve needle for closing the valve and an electromagnet that is able to have current applied to it, having a magnet armature that is drivable to a lift motion, which sits axially displaceably on the valve needle and carries along the valve needle in the lift direction for opening the valve via a driving flange situated on it. To simplify production and the assembly of the valve while achieving the advantages characteristic in valves having a prestroke spring and an armature free path, the magnet armature is supported on the valve housing using a diaphragm spring.

A fuel injection valve includes a fixed core formed into a cylindrical shape, a valve plunger that can move closer to or away from the fixed core, a retainer formed with a substantially C-shaped cross-section having one long straight opening extending linearly along the entire length in an axial direction while having a tapered face on an outer periphery of each of opposite end parts in the axial direction and is press fitted into the fixed core, and a return spring provided between the retainer and the valve plunger. A cutout is provided in peripherally opposite end parts of the retainer for increasing the width between opposite end parts in a longitudinal direction of the opening. This enables the degree of freedom in selecting the material for forming a retainer while preventing the occurrence of galling or generation of swarf when press fitting the retainer into the fixed core.
