Left atrial appendage stasis reduction

Methods and devices that prevent stasis in the LAA by either increasing the flow through the LAA or by closing off or sealing the LAA. Increasing the flow is accomplished through shunts, flow diverters, agitators, or by increasing the size of the ostium. Closing off the LAA is accomplished using seals or by cinching the LAA.

MEDICAL CONNECTORS AND METHODS OF USE

A medical connector for use in a fluid pathway includes a substantially transparent housing having a proximal end with a proximal opening and a distal end with a distal opening, and a cavity extending therebetween. The connector provides a substantially visible fluid flow path extending through a substantial portion of the connector.

MEDICINAL NEBULIZER AND METHOD OF DISPENSING MEDICAMENT
20220184326 · 2022-06-16 ·

A nebulizer for medicament is provided. The nebulizer includes a cup having an interior surface. An axle is attached to the cup at least at a location along a central axis of the cup such that rotation of the axle causes a rotation of the cup about the central axis. A fan is operably attached to the axle and configured to generate a flow of air adjacent to the cup. A drum is disposed around a circumference of the cup, and configured to contain the generated flow of air near the cup. A conduit is configured to receive liquid medicament and deposit such medicament on a surface of the cup.

OXYGENATOR FIBER MEMBRANE WITH MODIFIED SURFACE PROPERTIES

A blood oxygenator includes a housing having a blood inlet, a blood outlet, a gas inlet, and a gas outlet; and a gas exchange medium having a plurality of hollow fibers in fluid communication with the gas inlet and the gas outlet. Each of the hollow fibers has a roughened outer surface configured to decrease a thickness of a boundary layer at an interface between blood and the roughened outer surface and increase a gas exchange rate at the interface.

MEDICINE DISPENSING DEVICE
20220184361 · 2022-06-16 ·

A medicine dispensing device includes a first tubular body and a second tubular body. The first tubular body has an internal receiving space for disposing a liquid medicine and a stop member. A removable section is disposed at a dispensing end of the first tubular body. A neck section is disposed at one end distal from the removable section. The second tubular body includes a tube sealing section, a compression section and a communication tube section. One end of the communication tube section, which end is distal from the tube sealing section, is in communication with the neck section, whereby the receiving space is in communication with the interior of the second tubular body. The stop member blocks the neck section and interrupts the internal passage of the neck section to prevent the liquid medicine from flowing into or stagnating in the second tubular body in use.

MULTI-CHANNEL AND REVERSED AIRFLOW MOUTHPIECE FOR AN AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE
20220175043 · 2022-06-09 ·

The mouthpiece for an aerosol-generating article comprises a housing with an inlet end, configured to allow an aerosol to flow into the mouthpiece, an outlet end, configured to allow the aerosol to flow out of the mouthpiece, and an aerosol flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet end. The mouthpiece is formed such that the flow direction of the aerosol is reversed at least once between the inlet and the outlet end. The invention also concerns an aerosol-generating system comprising an aerosol-generating device and the mouthpiece, as well as a method for assembling the mouthpiece.

THIN-PROFILE DELIVERY APPARATUS AND MEDIA CARTRIDGES

An apparatus to provide scent or other substances (e.g., active agent) includes a thin profile delivery apparatus that includes an actuator (e.g., nebulizer) and drive circuit to generate a spray, aerosol or vapor. The apparatus may have a slot to removably a media cartridge that carries the scent or other substances. The apparatus may include two contacts (e.g., buttons), opposed to one another across a dimension of the apparatus. Activation may require both engagement of both contacts, for instance concurrently, or even successive engagement of both contacts, in quick succession. Activation may further require a correct orientation of the apparatus. The apparatus may have a form factor similar to a conventional credit or debit card, and may be pliable or pliably resilient. The delivery apparatus can be used in entertainment (e.g., food or cooking programming), and in healthcare (e.g., control of metabolism).

NOISE REDUCTION DEVICE FOR RESPIRATORY APPARATUS
20220176061 · 2022-06-09 ·

A noise reduction device (100) for a respiratory apparatus (162) including a body (104) with a gas outlet (106) arranged to be mounted on the gas inlet (164) of the respiratory apparatus (162), and a cover (102) configured to be detachably engaged with the body (104) for forming a gas inlet (156) and a gas passage (138). The cover (102) includes a guiding member (136) to define at least a part of the gas passage (138) and the guiding member (136) is configured to be coupled with the body (104) to form the gas passage (138) between the body (104) and the cover (102). The noise reduction device (100) in the present invention provides a longer and smooth passage (138) for the gas to flow from the gas inlet (156) to the gas outlet (106) for reduction of turbulence and resistance of gas flow and hence reducing the noise caused by the friction between the fluctuated gas flow and the gas inlet (164) of the respiratory apparatus (162).

RESPIRATORY APPARATUS WITH NOISE-DAMPING MEMBER
20220168522 · 2022-06-02 ·

A respiratory apparatus (100), comprising: a first gas inlet (202) for supplying a first gas to the respiratory apparatus (100); a second gas inlet (206) connectable to a pressurized gas source to supply a pressurized gas; a mixing chamber (204) for mixing the first gas and the pressurized gas; and a noise-damping member (216) disposed downstream of the mixing chamber (204).

HUMIDIFICATION TANK AND VENTILATION TREATMENT DEVICE

A humidification tank and a ventilation treatment device are provided. The humidification tank includes a tank body having a cavity, a connector pipe inserted into the cavity, and at least two branch pipes communicated with an outlet end of the connector pipe. The branch pipes can provide airflow towards different directions so that gas reaches more positions in the cavity, the existence of a position to which the gas cannot be blown in the cavity is avoided, the occurrence of a dead zone of airflow is avoided. The fluidity of gas inside the cavity is improved, and a gas flowing path is lengthened, thus improving the humidifying effect of gas.
