Breast pump system
The invention is a wearable breast pump system including a housing shaped at least in part to fit inside a bra and a piezo air-pump. The piezo air-pump is fitted in the housing and forms part of a closed loop system that drives a separate, deformable diaphragm to generate negative air pressure. The diaphragm is removably mounted on a breast shield.

Multi-function headboard for patient support apparatus
A patient support apparatus comprises a support structure, an articulation system, and a headboard assembly. The support structure comprises a head end, a foot end, a base, and a patient support deck to support a patient between the head end and the foot end. The patient support deck comprises a first section and a second section capable of articulating relative to the first section. The articulation system articulates the second section relative to the first section. The headboard assembly is coupled to the second section to be arranged adjacent to a head of the patient lying on the patient support deck. At least a portion of the headboard assembly articulates with the second section when the second section articulates relative to the first section. The headboard assembly comprises one or more environment controls operable to alter an environment of the patient on the patient support deck.
Tattoo machine rechargeable battery unit with voltage controller
A compact battery and voltage supply controller apparatus for a tattoo machine is disclosed. The battery and controller are configured to connect the battery to the tattoo machine through replaceable internally received magnetic connection adapters. The toggle switch operated display screen provides easy-to-view status and health of the battery and incremental voltage adjustment using a voltage boost circuit and adjustment knob. The internal battery can be replaced and/or removed and recharged.
Applicator device for applying specific amounts of topical substances onto the skin
An applicator device allows for independent application of topical substances onto patients' skin, allowing self-application to difficult-to-reach areas. The applicator device includes a handle, an articulating segment, and an applicator head. The handle extends to a rotating joint between the handle and the articulating segment. A user activates the handle that operates to deliver the topical substance from an incorporation portion of the articulating segment to the applicator head and to the patient. The device meters the dispensed doses. The device can use disposable foam applicator pads and comes in a sleek, modern, ergonomic design. The device articulates and folds and rotates to provide easy access to previously hard-to-reach patient areas. The device can be easily stored, cleaned, and disinfected. The device prevents wasting of substances and solves the problem of overuse of topical medications, which can lead to adverse side effects.
NASOPHARYNGEAL SAMPLE COLLECTION DEVICES AND METHODS
Kits, devices, systems and related methods for obtaining a nasopharyngeal sample utilize a rinsing fluid supply component and a collecting component, which may be used as separate modules or integrated with a housing to form a handheld unit that may be operated with a single hand. The dispensing component may include a flexible reservoir pump containing a supply of rinsing fluid, and a first nostril interface adapted to engage a first nostril of a patient and guide a stream of rinsing fluid into the patient's nasal cavity. The collecting component may include a collection container and a second nostril interface adapted to engage a second nostril of a patient and collect effluent. An absorbent shield may be arranged on the integrated unit to absorb stray fluid.
PERITONEAL DIALYSIS SYSTEM USING DISINFECTION
A peritoneal dialysis (“PD”) system includes a housing; a dialysis fluid pump housed by the housing and including a reusable pump body that accepts PD fluid for pumping; a dialysis fluid inline heater housed by the housing and including a reusable heater body that accepts PD fluid for heating; at least one reusable PD fluid line extending from the housing; at least one disinfection connector supported by the housing and configured to accept one of the at least one reusable PD fluid line; and a control unit configured to run a disinfection sequence after a PD treatment, wherein each of the at least one reusable PD fluid line is connected to one of the at least one disinfection connectors, and wherein at least one of the dialysis fluid pump or the dialysis fluid inline heater is actuated by the control unit during the disinfection sequence.
Delivery of respiratory therapy using conduits with varying wall thicknesses
An air delivery system for providing a supply of air from a source of air at positive pressure to an interfacing structure located at the entrance to the airways of a patient includes a manifold adapted to connect with the supply of positive air pressure and at least one tube connected to the manifold and adapted to deliver the supply of air to the interfacing structure. Each tube is structured to allow movement between an open phase in which the tube allows the passage of air and a collapsed phase in which the tube is collapsed. Each tube is structured such that weight of a typical patient's head against bedding apparel is sufficient to collapse the tube from the open phase to the collapsed phase.
Multipurpose utility holder for IV pole
A cleanable and reusable device which is attachable on an IV pole for holding multiple different instruments and articles such as an ether screen, a pacemaker, additional IV bags, and/or a transesophageal echo probe.
Medical equipment mounting system for an I.V. pole
A medical equipment mounting system for an I.V. pole including an arm having an adjustable clamp on the distal end, and a mounting plate. The mounting plate is welded to the side of a hospital bed. Furthermore, the proximal end of the arm is attached to the mounting plate. In one embodiment, the clamp is a U-shaped clamp having a security screw disposed along its opening. The security screw allows for the I.V. pole to be safely secured to the clamp and prevents the detachment of pole when a hospital patient bed is being transported or maneuvered.
