Parking braking force-associated remote start-up method and remote start-up system of manual transmission vehicle
A remote start-up method of a manual transmission vehicle is provided. The method includes a parking braking force-associated remote start-up control that remotely starts-up an inclined parking vehicle parked on a ramp by confirming a situation where the parking braking force is maintained by a braking hydraulic pressure control of an electronic stability control (ESC) system in a remote start-up controller.
Starter motor temperature indication systems
An engine starter apparatus includes a starter motor, a temperature sensor configured to detect a temperature of the starter motor, a light source integrated with the starter motor, and a controller operatively connected to the temperature sensor and the light source. The controller is configured to illuminate the light source in a first color in response to the temperature of the starter motor exceeding a first temperature threshold. The controller is configured to illuminate the light source further in a second color in response to the temperature of the starter motor exceeding a second temperature threshold. The second temperature threshold is greater than the first temperature threshold. The first and second color are different. The second temperature threshold corresponds to a life limit of the starter motor. Illumination of the light source indicates an overheated starter motor, which may warrant a replacement of the starter motor.
Method and device for controlling start of vehicle
A method for controlling a start of a vehicle using a controller includes: determining whether revolutions per minute (RPM) of an engine is within a reference range when start of the vehicle is requested; determining whether state data for controlling the vehicle satisfies a control condition for controlling a start of the vehicle when RPM of the engine is within the reference range; determining whether a position value of an accelerator pedal is less than or equal to a reference position value when the state data satisfies the control condition; determining whether a speed of the vehicle is greater than or equal to a reference speed when the position value of the accelerator pedal is less than or equal to the reference position value; and controlling a brake device when speed of the vehicle is greater than or equal to the reference speed.
METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING LATENT DEGRADATION OF ENGINE STARTING SYSTEM FEEDBACK
A method and system for operating a vehicle that includes feedback of operating status of an engine starting system is described. In one example, the method inhibits automatic engine pull-down in response to feedback from an engine starting system that does not meet expectations. The system and method may provide diagnostics for the engine starting system.
Vehicle power supply apparatus
A vehicle power supply apparatus includes first and second power supply systems, an accumulator sensor, and an abnormality determination unit. The first power supply system includes a generator and a first electrical energy accumulator. The second power supply system includes a second electrical energy accumulator and a group of electric devices. The accumulator sensor detects at least a discharge current of the second electrical energy accumulator. The abnormality determination unit determines that the second electrical energy accumulator is abnormal on the condition that the accumulator sensor is normal and the discharge current of the second electrical energy accumulator is equal to or smaller than a current threshold.
Engine health diagnosis and fault isolation with cranking test
Systems, apparatuses and methods for systematically executing a diagnosis and fault isolation of a failure condition for an engine during a cranking test of the engine. Examples of the failure condition include, but are not limited to, cylinder-by-cylinder compression conditions, excessive blow-by conditions, valve failures, leaks, and/or obstructions of the intake, exhausts, crankcase ventilation, and/or exhaust gas recirculation systems.

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE
A four-wheel drive vehicle includes: a drive-power distribution device for transmitting a drive power of an engine toward main and auxiliary drive wheels, at a drive-power distribution ratio between the auxiliary drive wheels and the main drive wheels; and a control apparatus for executing a drive-power distribution control for adjusting the drive-power distribution ratio, and executing an engine automatic-start control for causing the engine to be started upon satisfaction of an engine-start condition. Upon execution of the engine automatic-start control, the control apparatus changes a target engine rotational speed from a predetermined engine-start rotational speed to a changed engine rotational speed, such that a difference of the changed engine rotational speed from a resonance rotational speed that causes resonance of a drive system to which the engine is connected in a power transmittable manner, is larger than a difference of the predetermined engine-start rotational speed from the resonance rotational speed.
Methods and apparatus for protecting starter generator systems during a fault condition
An example apparatus includes a level shifter having a first supply input, a gate driver having a second supply input coupled to the first supply input and adapted to be coupled to a cathode of a diode, the gate driver having an output adapted to be coupled to a control terminal of a switch, and a current source circuit having an input and an output, the input adapted to be coupled to a power supply and the output adapted to be coupled to the first supply input, the second supply input and to a capacitor.
Cloud-enabled vehicle autostart monitoring
In accordance with one aspect of the disclosure, an apparatus is provided that includes a database configured to store one or more vehicle status parameters of a vehicle and one or more secured space status parameters of a secured space. The apparatus further includes a server-based processor operatively coupled or connected to the database and configured to receive one or more of the one or more vehicle status parameters and one or more of the one or more secured space status parameters. The server-based processor is further configured to determine, based on at least one of the one or more vehicle status parameters and at least one of the one or more secured space status parameters whether to change a state of the vehicle.
