VEHICLE START-STOP SYSTEM

A vehicle starter assembly includes a switching circuit configured to operate in a charging state and a discharging state, and a first energy storage device and a second energy storage device electrically connected to the switching circuit. The first energy storage device and the second energy storage device are connected in parallel to one another in the charging state and in series with one another in the discharging state. The processor is programmed to detect an engine start request and output a switch control signal that toggles the switching circuit between the charging state and the discharging state to start an internal combustion engine of a host vehicle.

Rechargeable battery jump starting device with control switch and optical position sensing switch systems

A rechargeable battery jump starting device with a control switch (e.g. rotary control switch) and an optical position sensing switch system to determine the position of the control switch. The optical position sensing switch system includes an optical position sensor using optical coupling to insure the integrity of isolation on the 12V to 24V master switch to allow for a safe and effective operation, and configured so that the microcontroller unit reads the position on the master switch.

Vehicle battery jump starter powered by a removable and rechargeable battery pack

A vehicle battery jump starter that is powered by a removable and rechargeable battery pack, such as a battery pack used with various hand-held power tools. The battery pack removably connects to a vehicle battery jump starter and can be selectively used to charge a power boost module within the vehicle battery jump starter. The power boost module includes, for example, a plurality of supercapacitors or lithium polymer battery cells. The power boost module in combination with the battery pack 100 can be used to jump start a vehicle battery.

PORTABLE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY JUMP STARTING DEVICE

A rechargeable battery jump starting device having a highly conductive electrical pathway from a rechargeable battery of the device to a vehicle battery being jump started. The highly conductive pathway can be provided by a highly electrically conductive frame connecting one or more batteries of the rechargeable battery jump starting device to battery clamps of the rechargeable battery jump starting device.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY JUMP STARTING DEVICE WITH LEAPFROG CHARGING SYSTEM

A rechargeable battery jump starting device with a leapfrog charging system. The leapfrog charging system, for example, can sequentially charge multiple batteries of the rechargeable battery jump starting device.

Snowthrower with removable self-heating starter battery pack

A snowthrower includes an internal combustion engine and a starter battery pack that provides electrical power to operate an electric starter motor. The starter battery pack is received within a receptacle of the snowthrower and is selectively coupled to the starter motor to initiate operation of the internal combustion engine. The starter battery pack can further include a battery heating circuit that is operable to heat the starter battery pack above ambient temperatures to increase the current output of the starter battery pack. The battery heating circuit includes a controller that utilizes electrical power from the starter battery pack to heat the starter battery pack.
