A nasal bulb aspirator that can be sized to fit the needs of infants through adults and is designed to ensure that the tip remains hygienically intact by a one-way valve and a counterbalance system that prevents the tip from touching surrounding surfaces, thereby limiting cross contamination from possibly resistant pathogens.

Medical Liquid Warmer with Auxiliary Temperature Sensor
20170281879 · 2017-10-05 ·

An auxiliary sensor can be used to measure the temperature of individual products in a heating cabinet. By arranging the temperature sensor with respect to the low mass thermal conductors and insulators, the sensor can be focused on the product to obtain the proper temperature irrespective of the immediate environment whether it is at room temperature or even within the heating cabinet.

Interventional catheter assemblies, control consoles and adaptive tubing cassettes

Interventional catheter assemblies, operating systems and adaptive interface components allow operation of a variety of interventional catheter assemblies, including infusion catheters, aspiration catheters and interventional catheters that provide both infusion and aspiration, using a common control console housing infusion and aspiration systems. Adaptive tubing cassettes having a handle and one or more preformed tubing loops route aspiration and/or infusion tubing in a predetermined configuration to mate with aspiration and infusion systems on a control console.

A transportable extracorporeal system includes a housing, a blood flow inlet, a blood flow outlet, a plurality of hollow gas permeable fibers, a gas inlet in fluid connection with inlets of the plurality of hollow gas permeable fibers, a gas outlet in fluid connection with outlets of the plurality of hollow gas permeable fibers, a first moving element, a concentrated oxygen generating device, a second moving element, a hollow transport conduit having a proximal opening and a distal opening and a power source configured to provide power to the first and second moving elements. The plurality of hollow gas permeable fibers comprising a gas transfer membrane. The concentrated oxygen generating device is configured to recycle waste oxygen from the gas transfer membrane to increase throughput and remove, by an adsorption/desorption process, unwanted gasses.

CONNECTORS FOR RESPIRATORY ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

Connectors for respiratory assistance systems are disclosed that are configured to at least decrease the proportion of condensate that drains into an inspiratory conduit. The connectors include a setup that causes the portion of a wye-piece connected to an expiratory conduit to be positioned below the portion of the wye-piece connected to the inspiratory conduit. The connector can alternatively, or additionally, include a wye-piece that includes a ball attached to the wye-piece adjacent the inspiratory conduit port such that when the ball is connected to a medical stand, the expiratory conduit port is positioned below the inspiratory conduit port. The connector can alternatively or additionally include a circuit hanger that includes a cradles for both conduits and a ball attached to the circuit hanger adjacent the inspiratory conduit cradle such that when the ball is connected to a medical stand, the expiratory conduit cradle is positioned below the inspiratory conduit cradle. The connector can alternatively or additionally include a coaxial wye-piece that includes an inspiratory branch, an expiratory branch, and a patient end. The tip of the inspiratory branch that is internal to the coaxial wye-piece may have a lip and a narrowed diameter, features which obstruct or reduce condensate from entering the inspiratory branch and the inspiratory conduit regardless of the coaxial wye-piece orientation or position.

System and Method for Washing Shed Blood
20170246376 · 2017-08-31 ·

A method for collecting and washing shed blood includes providing a blood salvage reservoir and a blood salvage system. The user may connect a vacuum inlet port on the reservoir to a vacuum outlet port on the salvage system, connect an inlet port on the reservoir to a patient, and connect a vacuum source to a vacuum connection port on the salvage system. The method may then (1) draw a vacuum on the reservoir to draw shed blood into the reservoir, (2) disconnect the reservoir from the surgical field and salvage system, and (3) connect a second reservoir. The first blood salvage reservoir may then be connected to an automated blood processing system, and the collected blood may be introducing into the automated blood processing system and washed. The blood processing system may then return a portion of the washed blood to the patient.

ORGANIZER ANCHOR ASSEMBLY FOR DIALYSIS SYSTEM
20170246442 · 2017-08-31 ·

An organizer anchor assembly may include an organizer unit coupled to an anchor base having a flat bottom with sufficient surface area in contact with a table or other surface to secure the organizer assembly in place during use. The organizer unit holds and organizes lines of a medical device, such as a peritoneal dialysis machine. The anchor base may be flat to contact the cart or table surface and/or may include a perpendicular portion designed to wrap around an edge of the cart or table surface. The organizer anchor assembly may be beneficially used in connection with a home dialysis machine in which lines and connectors are desirably organized and anchored during a dialysis treatment. Portions of the organizer anchor assembly may be made of polymer materials that provide a frictional interface in contact with a surface to resist movement of the organizer anchor assembly across the surface.

LINE HOLDER ASSEMBLY FOR DIALYSIS SYSTEM
20170246371 · 2017-08-31 ·

A line holder assembly may include a molded nest coupled to an anchor pad or base having a flat bottom with sufficient surface area in contact with a table or other surface to secure the line holder assembly in place during use. The nest is designed to extend around a cart or table edge and having tabs to accept a line holder for holding and organizing lines and which may be disposed in a vertical position. The anchor base may be made of or otherwise include a flexible, rubber-like material, such as silicone, and thereby use the material's natural stickiness to provide fixation to the table or cart. The line holder assembly may be beneficially used in connection with a home dialysis machine, such as a peritoneal dialysis (PD) cycler, in which lines and connectors are desirably organized and anchored during a dialysis treatment.
