VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS
20210122355 · 2021-04-29 ·

A vehicle control apparatus includes a condition determining unit, a mode switching controller, and a notification controller. The condition determining unit is configured to determine whether enabling conditions set to enable a switching control to an engine stop mode are satisfied. The engine stop mode stops an engine of a vehicle in a driving state. The mode switching controller is configured to perform the switching control to the engine stop mode in response to that the condition determining unit determines that the enabling conditions are satisfied. The notification controller is configured to compare a measured time value and a threshold both related to the enabling condition which the condition determining unit determines as not being satisfied. The notification controller is configured to perform, in response to that the measured time value exceeds the threshold, a control of making notification that the switching control is in a disabled state.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING A STATE OF CHARGE OF A VEHICLE BATTERY OF A VEHICLE

The present invention relates to a method for determining the state of charge of a vehicle battery (150) of a vehicle, a starter relay of a starting device (100) for an internal combustion engine of the vehicle for engaging a starter pinion in a ring gear of the internal combustion engine having a first winding (121) and a second winding (122) which can be controlled independently of one another, the first winding (121) being controlled in predetermined control states and voltage values that are established in the course of these control states being determined and the state of charge of the vehicle battery (150) being determined depending on the determined voltage values.

Startup assistance device for internal combustion engine

A startup assistance device, which assists startup of an internal combustion engine in which fuel is supplied from an electronically controlled fuel injection device and ignition is performed by an ignition device, includes a recoil starter which is driven by manpower and which performs cranking for starting up the internal combustion engine, an electric rotary machine which adds torque to a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine during at least one of a startup period of the internal combustion engine using the recoil starter and a standby period before the startup period, a power source unit which supplies power to the electric rotary machine, and a control unit which controls the magnitude and time of the torque output by the electric rotary machine.

POWER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A LOCOMOTIVE

A power system for a locomotive includes an engine, an alternator, an electrical system, a primary load, an auxiliary load, a battery and a battery management system. The alternator is coupled to the engine. The electrical system is electrically powered by the alternator. The primary load, auxiliary load, and battery are electrically connected to the electrical system. The primary load is configured to provide the primary motive power for the locomotive. The battery management system is electrically connected to the battery and configured to monitor the battery and provide power to the auxiliary load when the engine is off and at least one battery condition is met. The battery management system is in communication with a back office to provide information on the at least one battery condition.

ENGINE DRIVING APPARATUS

An engine driving apparatus includes an engine, a starter motor, and a starter motor controller. The engine includes a plurality of cylinders. When any one of the plurality of cylinders enters a compression stroke, another one of the cylinders enters an expansion stroke. The starter motor is coupled to a crankshaft of the engine. The starter motor controller is configured to control the starter motor. Before restarting the engine, the starter motor controller performs pre-restart control for adding torque to the crankshaft by using the starter motor to open an exhaust valve of the cylinder in the expansion stroke.

Engine stop/start enablement based on combustion parameters

Apparatuses, systems, methods, and techniques relating to engine start/stop functionality are disclosed. Automatic engine start/stop controls can be disabled during engine operating conditions in which one or more combustion parameters indicate a lack of combustion stability in one or more cylinders of the engine. Engine start/stop controls are enabled when the one or more combustion parameters satisfy combustion parameter conditions indicating combustion stability in the one or more cylinders.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REDUCING A STARTUP TIME OF A GENSET

A method and system of power generating is provided to reduce a startup time of a genset for providing requested power to a utility grid or a load. The genset includes a generator, a turbocharger, and an energy storage. The generator includes an engine. The genset responds to a genset start signal by accelerating an engine speed of the generator to reach a synchronous speed. The engine speed is accelerated more rapidly by activating the energy storage device to supply power to at least one of the generator and the turbocharger. The generator then supplies power to the utility grid or load.

Control device and control method for vehicle

A control device for a vehicle includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit executes control for prohibiting stop-and-start control until a predetermined period elapses after an ignition switch is turned ON. The electronic control unit executes scene-specific electric power supply control for operating a first function group that is a specific function and stopping a function other than the first function group in accordance with a state of the vehicle at a time when the ignition switch is turned OFF. The electronic control unit sets the predetermined period during which the stop-and-start control is prohibited longer in a case where the first function group is in an operating state than in a case where the first function group is not in an operating state when the ignition switch is turned ON.
