METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING AN ACTIVE SHORT CIRCUIT CONDITION IN AN ELECTRIC MOTOR OF A HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE
A method for producing an active short circuit condition in an electric motor of a hybrid electric vehicle including a traction battery, an inverter having switches in communication with the electric motor and the traction battery, and an inverter controller in communication with the inverter and configured to generate driver signals to operate the switches to produce three-phase alternating current for the electric motor to drive a vehicle propulsion system or to produce direct current for charging the traction battery. The method includes determining an electric motor speed threshold, wherein the electric motor speed threshold is continuously variable, comparing a monitored speed to the speed threshold, and generating, in response to the monitored speed exceeding the speed threshold, driver signals to operate the switches to produce an active short circuit condition in the electric motor to prevent overcharging of the traction battery.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LIMITING REMOTE START FUNCTIONALITY ON VEHICLES
This disclosure describes systems and methods for limiting the functionality of remote start systems within vehicles. Remote start operations may be limited, for example, in response to exceeding one or more remote start limits. Limiting the remote start operations may include either preventing the initiation of a remote start request or ending an already in-progress remote start operation.
Multi-function engine control and input system
An engine control and input system for a device having a tool driven by an engine, includes an input and control module having one or more inputs and a controller responsive to actuation of the inputs to permit user control of at least one engine operating parameter by user actuation of the inputs. The system may include a touch screen display that displays icons to the user relating to the inputs and the at least one engine operating parameter, and wherein the touch screen display is responsive to the user selecting one of the inputs by touching an associated one of the icons provided by the display. At least one of the inputs may relate to one or more of changing engine speed, starting the engine, causing the engine to drive the tool, turning on a light, actuating a heater or warmer or stopping engine operation.
Vehicle start and stop control based on seat heater actuation
Systems and methods for managing auto start of a vehicle during an auto-stop condition may include determining an operational status of a vehicle climate control system; receiving a target air outlet temperature from the vehicle climate control system; receiving data indicating a state of a heated seat of the vehicle; and inhibiting a start-vehicle command to restart the vehicle because of a cabin heating requirement when the data indicates that the heated seat of the vehicle is activated.
Engine stop/start inhibit during vehicle service
Systems and methods for operating an engine that may be automatically stopped and started without a human driver providing input to a device that has a sole function of stopping and starting the engine are presented. In one example, automatic engine starting is inhibited responsive to output of vehicle sensors that may be indicative of service being performed on a vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING REMOTE STARTING OF VEHICLE
A system and method for controlling the remote starting of a vehicle are provided to determine whether the remote starting is possible by comparing a parking lever operating force measured by a sensor with a reference parking lever operating force corrected in consideration of the durability degradation of a parking system. The method includes sensing a driving distance of the vehicle, operating times of a parking lever, a road inclination, and a parking lever operating force, when the vehicle is parked. Whether the remote starting is possible is determined by comparing a magnitude of the parking lever operating force with a magnitude of a reference parking lever operating force.
Auto start/stop control based on cooled seat signal systems and methods
Systems and methods for managing auto start of a vehicle during an auto-stop condition may include: determining an operational status of a vehicle climate control system; receiving a target air outlet temperature from the vehicle climate control system; receiving data indicating a state of a cooled seat of the vehicle; and inhibiting a start-engine command to restart an internal combustion engine of the vehicle because of a cabin cooling requirement when the data indicates that the cooled seat of the vehicle is activated.
ENGINELESS ELECTRICAL COMMUNICATION INTERFACE
A control system (300) for a transport engineless refrigeration unit (301), the control system including: a controller (302) for communication between a vehicle (307) and a plurality of vehicle devices, the controller comprising: a vehicle data connection (306) for transmitting data to and from a vehicle; a vehicle engine on/off connection (308) for triggering start-up of the vehicle engine; a plurality of device data connections (314), each device data connection transmits data to and from at least one device external to the controller; and a device power connection (313), the device power connection supplies power from the controller to at least one device external to the controller.
CLUTCH COOLING WITH BLADED ROTATABLE SHAFT
A cooling system for an automotive transmission is provided. The cooling system includes a housing defining a housing inlet. The housing defines an interior space that is in fluid communication with the housing inlet. A propeller assembly has a rotatable shaft and a blade extending from the rotatable shaft, which is configured to draw ambient air into the interior space of the housing through the housing inlet. A propulsion system assembly includes an engine configured to provide propulsion power through an engine output and an automotive transmission configured to receive the propulsion power from the engine output. A clutch is configured to selectively couple the engine output to the automotive transmission. The clutch is disposed in a housing, where the housing defines an ambient air inlet. A rotatable shaft having a blade is configured to draw ambient air into the housing through the ambient air inlet to cool the clutch.
