CAMERA BASED VEHICLE START-STOP FEATURE
20200362807 · 2020-11-19 ·

A method of vehicular control includes providing a camera and a control at a vehicle. Image data captured by the camera is processed at the control to determine presence of a stopping area ahead of the vehicle and being approached by the vehicle as the vehicle is maneuvered along the road. Responsive to determination of presence of the stopping area, and responsive to determination that the driver releases the accelerator pedal of the vehicle, the operating capacity of the vehicle engine is reduced so that the engine operates at reduced capacity as the vehicle moves toward and stops, via the driver applying the brake pedal of the vehicle, at the determined stopping area. After stopping the vehicle, the control determines if a hazard is present in the field of view of the camera and restores the operating capacity of the engine its normal operating capacity if no hazard is present.

VEHICLE REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM AND VEHICLE REMOTE CONTROL METHOD

A vehicle remote control system includes a vehicle. The vehicle remote control system includes: a control unit that starts a change of a state of the vehicle to a predetermined state when a predetermined start condition is satisfied; a calculation unit that calculates an estimated required period required to change to reach the predetermined state; and a notification unit that notifies, to a user, estimation information about the calculated estimated required period. The user can be notified of the period required for the state of the vehicle to change to reach the predetermined state.

In response to a restarting request generated during a stopping period, in which fuel injection is stopped to automatically stop engine operation, either starter starting or combustion starting is selected. In the starter starting, the engine is restarted using a starter motor. In the combustion starting, the engine is restarted through fuel injection and ignition without using the starter motor. If the rotational resistance acting on the crankshaft is determined to be of such a magnitude that the combustion starting is impossible, the starter starting is carried out in response to the restarting request generated during the stopping period.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE STOP/START CONTROL

Methods and systems are presented for improving performance of a vehicle operating in a cruise control mode where a controller adjusts torque output from a vehicle to maintain vehicle speed within a desired range. The methods and systems include adapting a vehicle dynamics model and a vehicle fuel consumption map that provide input to nonlinear model predictive controller.

SERVER AND METHOD FOR MANAGING A BATTERY OF A VEHICLE

A battery managing server of a vehicle includes a communication device and a controller. The communication device is configured to receive vehicle data and weather information and a controller. The controller is configured to calculate battery available energy and ignition required energy based on the vehicle data and the weather information. The controller is further configured to compare the battery available energy with the ignition required energy to determine whether ignition of the vehicle is possible.

RESTARTING METHOD AND RESTARTING ASSEMBLY FOR STARTING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

The invention relates to a restarting method for automatically starting an internal combustion engine (2) of a motor vehicle (3) by means of a brake pedal actuation, comprising the following steps: detecting a brake pressure (p) by means of a brake pressure sensor (14); emitting a corresponding brake pressure signal sequence to a control device (13); determining a brake pressure profile (p.sub.pr) from the brake pressure signal sequence; determining a reference pressure value (p.sub.R) from the brake pressure profile; detecting a brake release status, wherein, with the release of a brake pedal, a brake pressure decrease (p) is detected based on the determined reference pressure value (p.sub.R), with said decrease exceeding a pressure decrease limit value (p.sub.G); emitting a starting signal (S.sub.WS) to a starter (15) for starting the internal combustion engine (2), if the brake release status has been detected. The invention also relates to a restarting assembly for a motor vehicle (1) for carrying out a method of this type.

VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS AND VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS

A vehicle control apparatus includes: a VSA-ECU and an ESB-ECU that perform braking control to apply a braking torque in response to a brake operation by a driver of a host vehicle, and also perform brake holding control to hold the braking torque even when the brake operation is cancelled; and an engine control unit that performs idling stop control to stop driving of an engine that is a drive source of the host vehicle when a stop condition is satisfied, including that a vehicle speed of the host vehicle enters a predetermined low vehicle speed region, and also performs restart control to restart the engine when a predetermined restart condition is satisfied. The engine control unit prohibits execution of the idling stop control during execution of the brake holding control.

Vehicle remote start prevention alert

A motor vehicle includes at least one camera capturing images of an environment outside of the motor vehicle. A proximity sensor detects an object disposed adjacent to the motor vehicle. An electronic processor receives the images captured by the at least one camera, and receives a proximity signal from the proximity sensor. The proximity signal is indicative of whether an object is disposed adjacent to the motor vehicle. The electronic processor determines, based upon the images captured by the at least one camera and the proximity signal, whether the motor vehicle is disposed within an enclosure. The electronic processor receives an engine start request signal that has been wirelessly transmitted by a user. In response to receiving the engine start request signal, the electronic processor causes the engine start system to start an engine of the motor vehicle when the motor vehicle is not disposed within an enclosure.
