Start-stop device and method of operating same for initiating an automatic shutdown of an engine of a motor vehicle
A method and start-stop device for initiating an automatic shutdown of an engine, in particular a combustion engine, in a motor vehicle are provided, wherein an automatic shutdown of the engine is initiated if a condition triggering a stop has been met and no shutdown preventer has been met. A first condition triggering a stop is determined depending on a delay request, when with the triggered delay request a braking value is requested that exceeds a predetermined first shutdown braking threshold without exceeding a predetermined second shutdown braking threshold that is greater than the predetermined first shutdown braking threshold. A second condition triggering a stop is determined depending on a delay request, if with the triggered delay request a braking value is requested that exceeds the predetermined second shutdown braking threshold.
CONTROLLER FOR VEHICLE
There is provided a controller for a vehicle that can execute, while the vehicle is stationary or moving, control of automatically stopping an engine upon determining that automatic stop conditions are met, and automatically restarting the engine upon determining that automatic restart conditions are met while automatic engine stop is in effect. At a time of first engine restart in one trip, the controller diagnoses whether a system that automatically restarts the engine is normal or abnormal. The automatic stop conditions for in-motion automatic engine stop include automatic stop execution conditions that are set based on a state of the vehicle, and automatic stop permit conditions that are set based on a travel environment. The controller sets the automatic stop permit conditions such that determination criteria are more stringent as a cumulative number of times of in-motion automatic engine stop in one trip is smaller.
Work vehicle start system and method with virtual walk-around for authorizing remote start
A remote start system for a work vehicle includes a communication unit configured to receive a remote start input signal; sensors detecting information indicative of a plurality of parameters associated with the work vehicle or work vehicle environment; and a controller including at least a start module and a verification module. The start module generates a verification request in response to the remote start input signal. In response to the verification request, the verification module confirms that the plurality of parameters satisfies a plurality of verification conditions associated with the work vehicle or work vehicle environment required for remote start. The verification module generates a verification confirmation when the parameters satisfy the plurality of verification conditions. The start module generates a start command in response to the verification confirmation. A starter device is configured to energize a prime mover of the work vehicle upon receipt of the start command.
VEHICLE REMOTE START PREVENTION ALERT
A motor vehicle includes at least one camera capturing images of an environment outside of the motor vehicle. A proximity sensor detects an object disposed adjacent to the motor vehicle. An electronic processor receives the images captured by the at least one camera, and receives a proximity signal from the proximity sensor. The proximity signal is indicative of whether an object is disposed adjacent to the motor vehicle. The electronic processor determines, based upon the images captured by the at least one camera and the proximity signal, whether the motor vehicle is disposed within an enclosure. The electronic processor receives an engine start request signal that has been wirelessly transmitted by a user. In response to receiving the engine start request signal, the electronic processor causes the engine start system to start an engine of the motor vehicle when the motor vehicle is not disposed within an enclosure.
Device and method for automatically switching off and starting a drive machine
A device and method automatically switches off and starts a drive machine in a motor vehicle. The device includes a sensor unit for sensing a noise level and/or a vibration level of the environment of the motor vehicle and an electronic control unit for controlling an engine start-stop automatic system. The signals of the sensor unit are captured and are compared with at least one defined threshold value. The drive machine is automatically switched off when a predefined condition exists. The drive machine, having been automatically switched off, is automatically started again at the latest when the signals of the sensor unit exceed the at least one defined threshold value.
VEHICLE REMOTE STARTER SAFETY SYSTEM
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for a vehicle remote starter safety system. An example disclosed vehicle includes range detection sensors and an autonomy unit. The example autonomy unit, in response to receiving a start signal, confirms, via the range detection sensors, that a garage door of a garage in which the vehicle is located is open, starts an engine of the vehicle, and autonomously maneuvers the vehicle out of a garage until a tailpipe of the vehicle is outside the garage.
CONTROLLING ENGINE OF VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to controlling engine of a vehicle. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, when it is determined that the vehicle has entered a deep water area, an engine start-stop function of the vehicle is disabled. The deep water area has a water depth which allows water to enter the engine of the vehicle or causes the engine of the vehicle to be susceptible to water inflow.
Engine heater control system
An energy consumption controller may be communicatively coupled with a plurality of alternative energy sources and an engine. The controller may be configured to manage energy consumption from the alternative energy sources interconnected with the engine and to keep the engine within a desired temperature range. Within the desired temperature range, the engine will start and run at a full load more rapidly than if the engine cooled excessively. The controller may change the selected energy source as required, based on factors such as cost, engine maintenance and testing and/or imminent need of the engine.
Control Device in a Motor Vehicle Having an Electronically Controllable Automatic Transmission in the Application Case of a Car Wash
A control device is provided for a motor vehicle having an electronically controllable automatic transmission, an electronic transmission selector lever and an electronic control unit. The control unit, which may be the transmission control unit, has a car wash functional module such that, after activation of the car wash functional module, the following steps are permitted at least once and/or at least for a predefined limited time, in each case without activation of the brake pedal: shutting down of the engine in the transmission selector lever position N; a subsequent restart of the engine in the transmission selector lever position N; and a changeover from the transmission selector lever position N to D. The car wash functional module can be activated or deactivated by the driver at his discretion via a display operator control element.
Control system for vehicle
If a predicted compression-time in-cylinder temperature Tp having a positive correlation with the intensity of predicted pre-ignition is equal to or higher than a pre-ignition threshold value Tig when a request for automatic start is made, a forward/reverse switching mechanism is placed in a released state, and an engine is automatically started. If the predicted compression-time in-cylinder temperature Tp is lower than the pre-ignition threshold value Tig, the forward/reverse switching mechanism is placed in an engaged state, and the engine is automatically started.
