IGNITION CONTROL APPARATUS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENIGNE AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An ignition control apparatus, e.g., for an internal combustion engine, includes a rotational speed calculation unit that calculates a rotational speed of an alternating current generator. A rotor of the alternating current generator is driven to rotate in synchronization with reciprocating motion of a piston of the internal combustion engine. An ignition timing determination unit determines an ignition timing of the internal combustion engine based on the rotational speed calculated by the rotational speed calculation unit. An ignition control unit supplies electric power to an ignition coil such that the internal combustion engine is ignited at the timing determined by the ignition timing determination unit.

MULTICONFIGURATION IGNITION COIL
An apparatus having an ignition coil. The ignition coil has a transformer; a housing; a high voltage output; a wiring harness connector; and two or more input terminals. At least one of the two or more input terminals are electrically coupled to the wiring harness connector and electrically isolated from the transformer. The transformer is electrically connected to the wiring harness connector.
Magneto ignition system and ignition control system
In at least some implementations, an ignition system for a combustion engine includes a controller, an ignition circuit, and a wire providing two-way communication between the ignition circuit and the controller. The ignition circuit may include a charge capacitor that is discharged to cause an ignition event. The ignition circuit may be an inductive discharge ignition circuit including a coil and may then also include a second wire that provides electrical power to the coil.
Ignition system for light-duty combustion engine
In at least some implementations, an auxiliary power supply in an ignition system for a light-duty combustion engine includes a first auxiliary winding and a second auxiliary winding coupled in parallel with the first auxiliary winding such that both windings are arranged to provide power to an auxiliary load. The first auxiliary winding may include a greater number of turns than the second auxiliary winding. A ratio of the number of turns in the first auxiliary winding to the number of turns in the second auxiliary winding may be between 1.5:1 and 10:1, the first auxiliary coil and the second auxiliary coil may have between 50 and 2,000 turns, and the first auxiliary coil and the second auxiliary coil are formed from wire between 25 and 45 gauge.

Ignition device, internal combustion engine and method for its operation
An ignition device for an internal combustion engine with a charging coil, in particular disposed on a yoke core, with a starter wheel to induce a charging voltage in the charging coil by its rotation, with a first energy store which is connected to the charging coil via a rectifier, as well as with an electrical load which for its power supply, in particular during the starting process of the internal combustion engine is connected to a second energy store, wherein the second energy store is connected to the first energy store via a voltage converter. Furthermore, the invention relates to an internal combustion engine with such an ignition device and a method for its operation.
ENGINE KILL SWITCH AND CONTROL ASSEMBLY
A speed regulating circuit in communication with an ignition circuit having a primary coil coupled to an ignition member to cause an ignition event within an engine, the speed regulating circuit being arranged to selectively prevent energy from the primary coil from being discharged to the ignition member to selectively prevent an ignition event. In at least some implementations, the speed regulating circuit includes a bidirectional or bilateral triode thyristor having an anode coupled to the primary coil and an anode coupled to ground, and an input gate that may be selectively actuated to route to ground energy received at the triode thyristor from the primary coil to inhibit transfer of energy from the primary coil to the ignition member. The triode thyristor may be selectively actuated, for example, as a function of engine speed, such as an engine speed above a threshold speed.
Ignition module with low speed control
In at least some implementations, an ignition system for a combustion engine includes analog circuit components arranged to control ignition events at an engine speed below a first threshold of engine speed and a microprocessor to control ignition events at engine speeds higher than the first threshold. Hence, ignition can be controlled at lower engine cranking speeds to facilitate starting the engine at lower engine rotational speeds.
