Drug-delivery pump with intelligent control
Embodiments of the present invention utilize a closed-loop feedback control system to ensure accurate drug delivery. This control system may, for example, utilize a flow sensor to measure the volume of delivery and an intelligent control algorithm to anticipate and compensate for overdoses and underdoses. Feedback control systems in accordance herewith can be applied to any piston- or plunger-driven pump system utilizing sensors that measure flow directly or indirectly. In some embodiments, adjustments are made during a “priming” stage when liquid is pumped through the internal fluid path but does not exit the pump.
MULTI-SENSORY, ASSISTIVE WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY, AND METHOD OF PROVIDING SENSORY RELIEF USING SAME
A system and method for providing sensory relief from distractibility, inattention, anxiety, fatigue, and/or sensory issues to a user in need. The user can be autistic/neurodiverse, or neurotypical. The system can be configured to obtain user sensory sensitivity data indicating a user's visual, sonic, or interoceptive, sensitivities; determine, using at least the user sensory sensitivity data, sensory thresholds specific to the user and mediation data corresponding to mediations specific to the user; store the sensory thresholds and mediation data; record, using one or more sensors, a sensory input stimulus to the user; compare the sensory input stimulus with the sensory thresholds; in response to comparing the sensory input stimulus with the sensory thresholds, determine, based at least on the mediation data, a mediation to be provided to the user, the mediation configured to provide the user relief from distractibility, inattention, anxiety, fatigue, or sensory issues.
Non-nasal treatment methods using carbon dioxide and saline
A method of treatment for mixed carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, saline and optional active additives for treating non-nasal ailments includes delivery of dosage of the treatment at specified flow rates, using a) main housing having a hollow central area containing the dosage; b) a dosage dispenser head located at the distal end of the main housing, and having at least one flow channel for movement of the dosage from the main housing through the dosage dispenser head and to external of the dosage dispenser head; c) a dosage release control component located between the main housing and the dosage dispenser head to permit flow of the dosage through the dosage dispenser head in response to increased pressure against the dosage; and d) a pressure-changing moveable component on the main housing.
PHACOEMULSIFICATION HANDLE WITH SENSOR AND SURGE CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
An ultrasonic phacoemulsification handpiece with a sensor and a surge control system and a method. The central aspiration lumen of the ultrasonic phacoemulsification handpiece consists of two components of plug-in loose fit: a fixed lumen and an extension lumen; a small pressure sensor is mounted on the extension lumen, but still able to keep the easy-to-use size and maintain the ultrasonic performance of the handpiece. The extension lumen minimizes the effect of ultrasonic vibration on the sensor while maintaining sufficient stiffness for installing and removing the phacoemulsification tip. The design of the handpiece transducer reduces the effect of this sensor installation on the ultrasonic performance. For ultrasonic phacoemulsification cataract removal surgery, the short distance from the pressure sensor to the surgical site provides a technical solution for reliably controlling the risk of the post occlusion surge.
Applicator For Cryoanesthesia And Analgesia
A handheld cryoanesthesia or analgesia device for cooling a target area on cutaneous membranes, mucous membranes, and tissue of the mucocutaneous zone having an elongated body and a thermoelectric cooling system disposed within the elongated body. The thermoelectric cooling system is configured to physically contact and thermally couple the target area of the cutaneous membranes, mucous membranes, and tissue of the mucocutaneous zone to induce cryoanesthesia or analgesia. The thermoelectric cooling system includes a thermally-conductive cold tip, a thermally-conductive cooling power concentrator thermally coupled to the cold tip, at least one Peltier unit module thermally coupled to the cooling power concentrator, a heatsink thermally coupled to at least one Peltier unit module, a power source, at least one thermal sensor, and a controller operably outputting a control signal to the Peltier unit module to maintain a predetermined temperature.
NOVEL PHAKIC INTRAOCULAR LENS IMPLANTATION WITHOUT VISCOELASTICS AND INSTRUMENT THEREOF
A novel phakic intraocular lens implantation without viscoelastics and an instrument thereof. The special designed instrument is employed to achieve a purpose of maintaining an anterior chamber only with a perfusion liquid in the surgery, so as to get rid of the influence of the viscoelastics completely. The viscoelastics are not used, so that there is no need to inject the viscoelastics or remove the viscoelastics as in traditional methods, the surgery time is shortened such that total time of surgical procedures from incision construction to incision hydration can be reduced to only 1˜3 minutes, and viscoelastic-related complications, such as postoperative high intraocular pressure and lens opacity, are completely avoided.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES, AND DEVICES FOR FACILITATING STRESS-ADAPTIVE VIRTUAL EXERIENCE STATIONS
A system for facilitating stress-adaptive virtual experience station includes a virtual display system and camera system coupled to a kinematic rig. An array of transducers coupled to the station interact with a user based on a feedback signal, configured for user health treatments, audio effects, or computational imaging techniques.
METHODS OF ALLEVIATING SYMPTOMS OF OCULAR SURFACE DISCOMFORT USING MEDICAL ICE SLURRY
Disclosed herein is a method of alleviating symptoms of ocular surface discomfort, the method comprising: topically applying a cold slurry adjacent to a corneal limbus of an eye of a patient, wherein the cold slurry comprises water and a freezing point depressant, wherein the topical application of the cold slurry is configured to cause a degree of numbing of a cornea of the eye for a period of time, and wherein an ocular sensation of the eye is restored following the period of time.
Accelerated Learning, Entertainment and Cognitive Therapy Using Augmented Reality Comprising Combined Haptic, Auditory, and Visual Stimulation
A plurality of first sensory cues are generated capable of being perceived by a user. Each first sensory cue of the plurality of first sensory cues is dependent on a position of at least one body member of a performer relative to a performance element of a performance object with which an event is performed. The plurality of first sensory cues being effective for stimulating a first processing center of a brain of the user. A plurality of visual sensory cues are generated capable of being displayed to the user on a video display device. The visual sensory cues providing a virtual visual indication to the user of the position of the at least one body member. The visual sensory cues being effective for stimulating the visual processing center of the brain of the user. The visual sensory cues being synchronized with the first sensory cues so that the position of the at least one body member is virtually visually indicated in synchronization with the first sensory cue and so that the visual processing center is stimulated with a visual sensory cue in synchronization with a first sensory cue stimulating the first processing center. The synchronized stimulation of the first processing center and the visual processing center is effective for teaching the user to perform a version of the event.
