ULTRA-SHARP MICRONEEDLE
A microneedle having a body including a base, shaft and pointed tip, and at least one lumen disposed within the shaft. The lumen having an opening that is offset from the tip and open to the exterior of the microneedle.
LIQUID FORMULATION COMPOSITIONS, MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICES, AND METHODS OF PREPARATION AND USE THEREOF
The invention provides liquid formulation compositions and medicament delivery devices, and methods for preparing and using the same. For example, the liquid formulation composition is an emulsion including a solvent and liquid particles, which includes surfactants and are dispersed in the solvent. The volume average particle size of the liquid particles is less than about 100 μm; the surface tension of the liquid formulation composition is less than about 60 mN/m; and the absolute value of zeta potential is greater than about 15 mV. The containment vessel may be a sprayer or a dropping device. The invention also provides methods for preparation of the liquid formulation compositions and medicament delivery devices as well as methods for using the same in treatment of various diseases and condition, for example, otitis media, otitis externa, rhinitis, sinusitis, lower respiratory tract inflammation, xerostomia (dry mouth), xerophthalmia (dry eyes) and xeromycteria (dry nose).
EXTERNAL EAR CANAL PRESSURE REGULATION SYSTEM
An external ear canal pressure regulation device including a fluid flow generator and an earpiece having a first axial earpiece conduit fluidicly coupled to the fluid flow generator, whereby the earpiece has a compliant earpiece external surface configured to sealably engage an external ear canal as a barrier between an external ear canal pressure and an ambient pressure.
HAPTIC TINNITUS THERAPEUTIC SYSTEM
Various aspects include approaches for managing tinnitus in a user. In some particular aspects, a computer-implemented method of managing tinnitus of a user with at least one wearable device includes: actuating, according to a prescribed pattern and using the at least one wearable device: a) an electro-acoustic transducer to provide an audio output to the user, and b) a contact element to apply vibration to a body part of the user, where the prescribed pattern both stimulates the nervous system of the user and delivers a sound to the user, which together mitigate the tinnitus.
Ear visualization and treatment system
A device for visualizing and providing suction for a surgical procedure in an ear may include a handle, a main shaft extending from the handle, an imaging sensor at a distal end of the main shaft, a light source at the distal end of the main shaft, and a suction shaft extending from the handle. The device may also include a spring coupled with the suction shaft and/or the handle, such that when the suction shaft is advanced in a distal direction and then released, the suction shaft retracts automatically. The suction shaft may have a distal curved portion, and the device may have a thumb depress portion that allows a user to spin the suction shaft to suction in different directions. Some embodiments may include a suction shaft with a sharp distal tip that is configured for placing an ear tube in the tympanic membrane.
ENT GUIDE WITH ADVANCEABLE INSTRUMENT AND ADVANCEABLE ENDOSCOPE SHAFT
An apparatus includes a body, a shaft assembly, and a shaft actuation assembly. The shaft assembly extends distally from the body and defines a longitudinal axis. A portion of the shaft assembly is configured to be inserted into an anatomical passageway associated with an ear, nose, or throat of a patient. The shaft assembly further defines a working passageway that is dimensioned to receive an instrument. An actuator of the body is operable to drive the instrument longitudinally relative to the shaft assembly. The shaft actuation assembly is operatively coupled with a proximal portion of the shaft assembly. Further, the shaft actuation assembly is translatable in a distal direction to extend the shaft assembly distally along the longitudinal axis and is translatable in a proximal direction to retract the shaft assembly proximally along the longitudinal axis.
Nasal Cannula Clip System and Method
For a nasal cannula system, a pair of clip systems may be used to secure the legs of tubing loops placed about a patient's ears, wherein the size of each tubing loop may be adjusted by sliding a clip system along the length of the legs of the tubing loop.
Tag based administration of pharmaceutical agents to livestock
Apparatus and method for autonomously administering a pharmaceutical agent, such as an insecticide, to an animal. A tag assembly is attached to the animal at a suitable location such as through an outer ear thereof. The tag assembly includes a reservoir to retain the pharmaceutical agent. An actuator of the tag assembly is configured to open the reservoir responsive to a control signal from a control circuit. An application mechanism facilitates a transfer of the pharmaceutical agent to the animal in response to the actuator. In some cases, the control signal may be transmitted to the tag assembly from an external source via a wireless connection. In other cases, the control signal may be generated internally using a sensor of the tag assembly. The tag assembly may include multiple reservoirs so that applications of the agent can be carried out at different times and under different conditions as required.
EAR IRRIGATION DEVICE
An ear irrigation device includes a water reservoir, a water inlet chamber, a water inlet assembly communicating with the water inlet chamber and a water outlet assembly communicating with the water inlet chamber. A piston is inserted at one end of the water inlet chamber, the piston and an interior of the water inlet chamber form a chamber, a recess is formed on a side of the piston away from the chamber, a rotor is rotatably connected in the recess, the rotor is connected with a link, an end of the link away from the rotor is connected with an eccentric rotating assembly, one end of the water inlet assembly communicates with the water reservoir, a check valve is arranged in the water inlet assembly, and another check valve is arranged in the water outlet assembly.
DISPENSER FOR DISCHARGING PHARMACEUTICAL LIQUIDS
A dispenser for discharging pharmaceutical liquids in the form of individual drops, having a liquid store, a pump device with a pump chamber with a variable volume, and a dispensing opening. The dispenser additionally has a membrane part which delimits the pump chamber on one side and which changes the volume of the pump chamber by moving and/or deforming. The dispenser has a housing, within which the pump device is provided, and an actuation button movable relative to the housing between a non-actuated starting position and an actuated end position to move or deform the membrane part and to decrease the size of the pump chamber to discharge the liquid. The membrane part.is secured to the housing and to the actuation button. The pump chamber achieves a high degree of compression and a toggle switch is used as the actuation button.
