CATHETER ASSEMBLY FOR BLOOD CLOTS REMOVAL
An extension catheter is introduced through the guide catheter and inserted into the treatment area, The extension catheter may have an expandable tip. A suction pump is coupled to the proximal end of the guide catheter to aspirate blood clots or other issue from the treatment location outside the body.
Diagnostic method, method for validation of diagnostic method, and treatment method
In a method for diagnosing, validating and treating a patient having lesions in both arteries of left and right lower limbs. By determining that a harder lesion to be treated first, catheters and an operation time can be reduced is to be treated first on a priority basis based on diagnostic data, deciding that a softer lesion is to be treated next, then treating the lesions substantially continuously.
Method and System for Controlled Hyperthermia
An improved system and methods for treatment of cancer and other diseases including complications from late-stage viral infections by inducing hyperthermia in a patient relying on withdrawing blood from the patient and returning the withdrawn blood to the patient to establish an extracorporeal flow circuit. Blood is heated by passing through the extracorporeal circuit at a controlled rate until a target body core temperature in is achieved. Usually, the blood will be subjected to a continuously re-circulating dialysis to balance electrolytes. Additionally, the blood will be subjected to a continuously recirculating regeneration through a carbon sorbent column where toxins and contaminants are removed. The blood temperature is maintained at the target blood temperature for a treatment period, and the blood is cooled after the treatment period has been completed. The method can also be effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, hepatitis, sepsis, the Epstein-Barr virus, and patients with life threatening complications from other viruses, including the COVID-19 virus. A method for removing viruses from the blood supply in an external circuit is also presented. An adjunct of the present invention is enhanced production of stem cells as a result of employing the HEATT process. A further adjunct is production of transgenic swine with extant viral infections.
Devices and methods for modulating medium delivery
Devices, systems and methods for controlling, regulating, altering, transforming or otherwise modulating the delivery of a substance to a delivery site. The devices, systems and methods optimize the delivery of the substance to an intended site, such as a vessel, vascular bed, organ and/or other corporeal structures, while reducing inadvertent introduction or reflux substance to other vessels, vascular beds, organs, and/or other structures, including systemic introduction.
VENTRICULAR ASSIST DEVICE AND METHOD
A ventricular assist device includes a stent for placement within a cardiac artery and arranged for placement, the stent arranged to have an open configuration defining a flow path, a rotor sized to fit within the stent and arranged for percutaneous placement the flow path, the rotor including a surface disposed about a central portion and angled with respect to the flow path and having a first plurality of magnets. A collar is sized for placement about the cardiac artery and includes a stator. A power source is coupled to the stator, and the stator and the rotor are arranged to rotate the rotor about an axis. A timing control module controls a rotational speed of the rotor. Accordingly, the surface of the rotor is arranged to move blood along the flow path in response to rotation of the rotor.
Device and method for injecting a biomaterial into body tissue
An injection device is described including a detection unit that includes an electrode that detects electrical characteristics of a biological tissue, a follow-up mechanism that follows motions of the biological tissue, and a puncture unit capable of puncturing the biological tissue. The injection device is configured to administer a predetermined substance to the biological tissue through a hollow portion defined in the puncture unit. A position of the puncture unit is specified based on a position of the electrode. The follow-up mechanism includes a spiral portion spirally extending around the puncture unit, and being stretchable and compressible along an extending direction of the puncture unit. Electrodes are disposed on an annular distal-end projected plane of the spiral portion, as seen from a distal end side of the puncture unit, along a circumferential direction of the puncture unit.
EMBOLIC PROTECTION ACCESS SYSTEM
Methods and devices are provided for protecting the cerebrovascular circulation from embolic debris released during an index procedure. An embolic protection filter is delivered in a reduced profile configuration via an access catheter, and positioned in the aorta spanning the ostia to the three great vessels leading to the cerebral circulation. An index procedure catheter is thereafter advanced through the same access catheter to conduct the index procedure. The index procedure may be a transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
Diagnostic catheters, guide catheters, visualization devices and chord manipulation devices, and related kits and methods
Described herein are devices, methods and kits for assessing and/or enhancing the accessibility of a subvalvular space of a heart, accessing the subvalvular space of the heart (e.g., to provide access for one or more other devices), and/or positioning one or more devices in the subvalvular space of the heart. The devices described herein may, for example, comprise catheters that may be used to manipulate one or more chordae tendineae, diagnostic catheters having different sizes and/or shapes (e.g., different curvatures), guide catheters having different sizes and/or shapes (e.g., different curvatures), and visualization catheters. In some variations, the devices, methods, and/or kits may be used to visualize a target site, such as a subannular groove of a heart valve. In certain variations, the devices, methods, and/or kits may be used to manipulate chordae tendineae to provide additional space in a ventricle of a heart (e.g., enhancing the accessibility of the ventricle).
Catheter Assembly for Blood Clots Removal
A medical device comprises a catheter and an aspiration pump. The catheter has a hybrid reinforcement to improve performance characteristics. The aspiration pump is cycled to improve aspiration efficacy.
CATHETER CLAMPING DEVICE
A clamping device for a shaft of a catheter can include a first member rotatably coupled to a second member. The first member can have an annular element defining a central lumen, the outer surface of the annular element having a non-circular cross-sectional profile, and the second member can define a bore into which the annular element extends, the bore having a non-circular cross-sectional profile. The device can move between a release state wherein the central lumen has a first diameter, and a clamped state wherein the central lumen has a second diameter less than the first diameter. When the clamping device is in the clamped state, the clamping device can engage an outer surface of a catheter shaft and when the clamping device is in the release state, the clamping device can be moved along a length of the catheter shaft.
