A system for supplementing the electric power needed by a pump jack electric motor, thereby reducing the electric power purchased from the local utility or power supplier. The system comprises a solar photovoltaic system, or other forms of renewable energy, and regenerated power from the electric motor or drive. The system can be both on-grid and off-grid. Battery banks and capacitor banks may be used to store energy.

Solar fueling station

A pumping system and a pumping method implemented with the pumping system. The pumping system comprises a solar panel performing a photovoltaic conversion based on an insolation level including a first insolation level and a second insolation level; a fuel reservoir containing a fuel in a liquid state; an electric motor; a pump rotatable by the electric motor to pump the fuel; and a first motor drive converting electrical energy supplied by the solar panel to drive the electric motor at a first speed when the insolation level is at the first insolation level and at a second speed, slower than the first speed, when the insolation level is at the second insolation level, thereby pumping the fuel at a first rate and a second rate, respectively.

Solar pump system and method for controlling solar pump system

A solar pump system comprises a solar module configured to generate DC power from sunlight, a water pump, an inverter configured to convert the DC power into AC power in order to drive the water pump, and a controller configured to generate a control signal for controlling an output frequency of the AC power. The controller compares the DC link voltage with a first reference level, adjusts the output frequency of the AC power, if the DC link voltage is greater than the first reference level, and determines the output frequency to prevent the DC link voltage from being equal to or less than a second reference level, if the DC link voltage is less than the first reference level.

System for collecting, generating, and transmitting gigawatt scale energy from a plurality of distributed sources dispersed over an area

A system for collecting, generating, and transmitting Gigawatt scale energy is provided. The system comprises a geographically dispersed network comprising a plurality of nodes, each node comprising: a water source; renewable energy sources comprising: a wind turbine string of a plurality of wind turbines; and a solar photovoltaic string; a nodal substation in electrical communication with the renewable energy sources. The nodal substation comprises: at least one electrolyser in electrical communication with the renewable energy sources, the at least one electrolyser configured to convert water from the water source into hydrogen, or hydrogen compound, with electricity from the renewable energy sources; a compressor to compress hydrogen, or hydrogen compound, from the at least one electrolyser into a pipeline fluidly connecting each node. The nodal substation is positioned a distance from the renewable energy sources such that energy transfer efficiency to a load exceeds traditional high voltage power transmission.

Solar Powered Water Feature

Example embodiments relate to a water feature. The water feature includes a vessel and an electrically powered submersible pump within the vessel, an outlet fluidly connected to the pump, a solar panel, and a battery. The water feature also includes a controller, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium which stores a set of program instructions which cause the water feature to perform operations. The operations include receiving a predetermined time to operate the pump on the battery. Based on the predetermined time, the operations include allocating a percent of a total electrical power generated by the solar panel to charge the battery and a remainder of the total electrical power generated to operate the pump. The operations additionally include determining that the battery has reached a threshold power level associated with the predetermined time to operate the pump and allocating the total electrical power generated to operate the pump.

PORTABLE SOLAR POWERED FLUID DISPENSER FOR RELEASE AGENTS
20190072085 · 2019-03-07 ·

A self-contained portable solar powered fluid pump dispenser for concrete release agents having a movable supporting base pallet upon which a bulk container of release agent fluid is carried, along with a supporting framework which carries a solar panel, electric pump and rechargeable battery that is energized by the solar panel. An elongated dispensing hose is coiled on a hose reel carried by the supporting framework, such that the dispensing hose and dispensing wand connected thereto may be efficiently stored when not in use. The solar powered pump is fluidly sealed between the bulk container of release agent fluid and the dispensing wand to prevent undesirable contaminants from entering the fluid dispensing system.

A modular pump system permits combining multiple discrete pump assemblies in serial and/or parallel configurations to tailor system output to user needs. The assemblies may be combined by hand quickly, without the needs for tools, to permit use in remote areas.

WOOD-BASED SOLAR THERMAL DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR FABRICATION AND USE THEREOF

Solar thermal devices are formed from a block of wood, where the natural cell lumens of the wood form an interconnected network that transports fluid or material therein. The block of wood can be modified to increase absorption of solar radiation. Combining the solar absorption effects with the natural transport network can be used for various applications. In some embodiments, heating of the modified block of wood by insolation can be used to evaporate a fluid, for example, evaporating water for extraction, distillation, or desalination. In other embodiments, heating of the modified block of wood by insolation can be used to change transport properties of a material to allow it to be transported in the interconnected network, for example, heating crude oil to adsorb the oil within the block of wood.
