COMBINATIONS OF ENGINEERED ANTIMICROBIAL PROBIOTICS FOR TREATMENT OF GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT PATHOGENS
Embodiments herein relate to engineered antimicrobial probiotics for the treatment of gastrointestinal tract pathogens. In an embodiment, a composition for treatment of an animal is included. The composition can include a first genetically engineered bacterium comprising a first exogenous polynucleotide. The first exogenous polynucleotide can include a first heterologous promoter and a first polynucleotide that encodes a first antimicrobial protein. The composition can also include a second genetically engineered bacterium comprising a second exogenous polynucleotide. The second exogenous polynucleotide can include a second heterologous promoter and a second polynucleotide that encodes a second antimicrobial protein. The first heterologous promoter can be induced by one set of exogenous environmental conditions found in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal and the second heterologous promoter can be induced by a second set of exogenous environmental conditions found in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal. Other embodiments are also included herein.
WILD BIRD TREATMENT COMPOSITION AND METHODS
Compositions, methods of preparing compositions, and methods of treating parasitic nematode infections in wild birds include a fenbendazole premix and a grain formulation. The fenbendazole premix includes fenbendazole, a solvent, a solubilizing agent, and a premix grain carrier. The grain formulation includes a plurality of grains selected from the group consisting of ground corn, soybean meal, whole milo, wheat midds, and rice bran. The fenbendazole premix is integrated within the grain formulation thereby yielding a fenbendazole concentration in the composition of between 80 ppm and 120 ppm. Processes and methods of preparation include mixing the fenbendazole premix and grain formulation in an industrial ribbon mixer, fully integrating the fenbendazole within the grain formulation. Methods of treating include collecting and testing samples, determining a number and location of treatment systems, and charging a feeder with the claimed composition.

BIDENS PILOSA AND POLYACETYLENIC COMPOUNDS FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF COCCIDIOSIS
A composition for use in prevention, inhibition and/or treatment of coccidiosis in an animal is disclosed. The composition comprises an effective amount of Bidens pilosa, an active constituent thereof, or an active compound isolated therefrom. In another aspect, a composition for use in enhancing growth in an animal is disclosed. The composition comprising an animal feed and an effective amount of Bidens pilosa, or an isolated active constituent comprising a polyacetylenic compound.
ENHANCEMENT OF HYDRATION AND IMPROVEMENT IN GUT HEALTH THROUGH CLOACAL DELIVERY OF PRODUCTS
In some embodiments, the presently disclosed subject matter provides a method of delivering a bioactive composition to ceca of a bird. In some embodiments, the method comprises (a) providing a bioactive composition; (b) delivering a treatment effective amount of the bioactive composition to a cloaca of the bird; and (c) providing stimulation to a vent of the bird; whereby delivery of the bioactive composition to the ceca of the bird is accomplished.
Feed supplement comprising oligosaccharides and medium chain fatty acids
The present invention relates to a feed supplement and a feed containing this feed supplement, comprising 1) a homotrimer, heterotrimer, homotetramer and/or heterotetramer of a carbohydrate component selected from the group consisting of a pentose saccharide, a hexose saccharide, glucuronic and galacturonic acid, and 2) a medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA), selected from the group consisting of caproic acid (C6), caprylic (C8), capric (C10) and lauric acid (C12). The invention also refers to the use of the feed supplement or feed in order to improve the efficiency of animal production, such as weight gain, feed conversion, nutritive value, health and wellbeing through the selective elimination of enteropathogens.
