Pump for article of footwear or apparel

A pump includes a conduit defining an inner volume and formed from a flexible material, the conduit movable between an expanded state and a relaxed state. A coil is disposed within the conduit and includes an outer diameter that is approximately equal to an inner diameter of the conduit, the coil substantially maintaining its outer diameter when the conduit is moved between the relaxed state and the expanded state. A manifold is in fluid communication with the inner volume and is operable to permit fluid to enter the inner volume in a first mode and expel fluid from the inner volume in a second mode.

TIRE INFLATION APPARATUS

Apparatus and methods for tire inflation using an apparatus. The apparatus contains a piston in a housing and a bladder attached at an end of the housing. The apparatus is configured to compress air between a cap, the housing, and piston from the bladder compressing. Air enters into the tire through a valve in the piston. When the bladder decompresses, the piston seals air in the tire, thereby enabling air to pass through the valve in the cap. The apparatus involves a method of maintaining air pressure in a tire. The method includes the apparatus for inflating the tire as the tire rotates over a surface.

Surgical fluid management

A fluid flow device includes a housing configured to releasably mate with a surgical control unit for controlling fluid flow during a surgical procedure. First and second ports measure fluid pressure within a fluid path provided within the housing. The fluid flow device includes a restrictor for restricting fluid flow at a restriction location along the fluid path. The first port is located upstream of the restriction location and the second port is located downstream of the restriction location. A fluid pump is provided within the housing.

The present invention involves, in some embodiments, mechanisms and methods of occluding collapsible tubing with an occluder to prevent fluid flow therethrough. In some embodiments, a tube occluding mechanism is disclosed that includes a bendable occluding member for creating a force that can be applied to a collapsible tube to occlude the tube. In some embodiments, the collapsible tube can be an inlet/outlet tube on a removable pumping cartridge that is coupled to a reusable pump drive component when the system is in operation. In such embodiments, the occluding mechanism can be attached to the reusable component and can be used to block fluid flow to and from the pumping cartridge. In some embodiments, the occluding member can comprises a spring plate which can create a force to occlude tubing when in a relaxed, unbent configuration, and which can be bent to unocclude the tubing. In some preferred embodiments, in a default configuration of the tube occluder mechanism (when no external force is applied to the occluding member) the tubes are occluded, so that the tube occluder mechanism provides a fail-safe configuration preventing fluid flow to and from a pumping cartridge to which the tubes can be connected.

TUBE PUMP AND FLUID DELIVERY METHOD

A tube pump and a fluid delivery method, the tube pump including a plurality of pressing portions and a tube that delivers fluid. The pressing portions is spaced apart from each other in a rotational direction and provided for a rotation body turned by a drive unit and the tube is provided on an outer circumferential side of the rotation body. The tube pump includes a control unit that turns the rotation body opposite to a delivery direction until the rotation body reaches a predetermined angle so as to restore an area of the tube, pressed by the pressing portion on a most upstream side in the delivery direction, by an increase in pressure within the tube accompanied with a movement opposite to the delivery direction of the pressing portion adjacent to a downstream side in the delivery direction.

Method, system and apparatus for cooling a mobile device

Method, system and apparatus for cooling a mobile device is provided. The device comprises: a housing comprising one or more apertures; a heat producing device; a cooling apparatus adjacent the heat producing device, the cooling apparatus comprising: an inlet; an outlet; and, a thermal pump configured to: draw air from the inlet to the heat producing device to form heated air, and exhaust the heated air from the outlet; and, one or more carbon nanotubes, a respective entrance of each of the one or more carbon nanotubes located at the outlet of the cooling apparatus, and a respective exit of each of the one or more carbon nanotubes terminating at a respective aperture of the one or more apertures, so that the heated air is vented through the one or more apertures.

System, method, and apparatus for utilizing a pumping cassette

The present invention involves, in some embodiments, systems and methods for pumping fluid into or out of a patient via a cartridge. The cartridge may include a membrane defining a chamber and mechanisms to supply, measure and control pressure in the chamber. The system further includes a processor that can be configured to compare certain pressure measurements to each other to facilitate determining if an error condition exists in the medical system if the difference between measurements is greater than a threshold. In certain cases the error condition may indicate leakage of the membrane, for example due to a pinhole in the membrane.

Fluid pumping apparatus for use with a removable fluid pumping cartridge

The present invention involves, in some embodiments apparatus, such as dialysis apparatus, and methods for pumping fluid. Certain embodiments comprise a housing enclosing a pump drive assembly for actuating at least one pump on a removable fluid pumping cassette. The housing may comprise a door connected to the housing for enclosing an installed cassette in the housing upon closure of the door. The pump drive assembly may comprise a mating block configured for operative association with an installed cassette and may be configured to permit a sealing engagement with an installed cassette upon closure of the door. To facilitate sealing, certain embodiments of the door include a movable compression plate configured to exert a compressive force on an installed cassette against the mating block when the door is in a closed position.
