A suction cover assembly for a reciprocating pump includes a suction cover nut having a nut face and a thread configured to threadably connect the suction cover nut to a fluid cylinder of the reciprocating pump. The suction cover assembly includes a suction cover having a cover face. The suction cover is configured to be held by the fluid cylinder such that the cover face opposes the nut face of the suction cover nut. The suction cover includes first and second seals having a leakage trap defined therebetween. The leakage trap is configured to trap leakage pressure during operation of the reciprocating pump. The suction cover includes at least one leakage channel that is configured to channel the leakage pressure from the leakage trap to an interface between the cover face and the nut face.

A pump draws fluid from a reservoir and drives the fluid downstream to a spray tip where the fluid is applied to a surface. A piston is driven in a reciprocating manner to pump the fluid. A check valve is disposed downstream of the piston to regulate a flow of the fluid downstream from the piston. The pump is initially dry and is primed with fluid prior to operation. To facilitate priming, the piston is dimensioned to impact the ball and unseat a valve member of the check valve during a priming stroke, thereby ejecting any air from the pump through the check valve. With the air ejected from the pump, a vacuum is formed during a suction stroke of the piston, which draws fluid downstream from the reservoir to prime the pump.

An overflow valve is built into a metering head for a metering pump used with aggressive media and under high pressure. The overflow valve follows the suction valve or expands it, and directly lowers a critical pressure that occurs in the metering head, using an overflow line. In this way, the safety of the arrangement is improved, and at the same time, less construction space is used up by the additional valve.

A compressor includes: a cylinder main body; a valve block; a cylinder head; a first seal group composed of a plurality of seal parts; and a second seal group composed of a plurality of seal parts. The valve block includes a guide-out flow passage which opens between the seal parts composing the first seal group and opens between the seal parts composing the second seal group. The guide-out flow passage is linked to an outer pipe for conveying a leaked gas from a compression chamber to a predetermined place.

A processor included in the apparatus may be configured to determine a water pumping rate of the water while the water escapes through the outlet pipe, and to control the compressed air feed pipe to provide the compressed air at an air pumping rate equal to the water pumping rate.

HIGH-THROUGHPUT DIAPHRAGM COMPRESSOR

Devices and methods for operating a diaphragm compressor system provide high output pressure and high throughput. In some embodiments, modular diaphragm compressors are stacked with a clamping mechanism pressing the compressor modules together. In embodiments, multiple stacks are provided as stages of a pressurization process. In embodiments, a main stage valve controls one or more pressure circuits for one or more hydraulic actuators of compressor modules. In embodiments, orifices configured for damping are incorporated to control actuator piston movement within a compressor module.
