A braking system for a hose or cable reel including a housing configured to fit inside a drum of the reel and to rotate with the drum during use, and a gerotor including inner and outer gears disposed inside the housing, wherein the inner gear is attachable to a shaft of the reel and the outer gear is configured to rotate relative to the inner gear with the housing during use thereby causing hydraulic fluid to be pumped through the gerotor and impede rotation of the drum.

LIQUID PUMP, IN PARTICULAR FOR PROVIDING A SUPPLY TO A TRANSMISSION OR TO A CLUTCH IN THE DRIVE TRAIN OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
20210164467 · 2021-06-03 · ·

A liquid pump, in particular for providing a supply to a transmission or to a clutch in the drive train of a motor vehicle, includes a drive motor, a pump module which can be operated in two opposing directions of rotation, and at least one inlet and multiple outlets, each of which has at least one corresponding check valve. The pump has a valve plate corresponding to the pump module in which, for each check valve, a valve seat and a receptacle for a valve element interacting with the valve seat are provided.

Dual motor gear pump
10920772 · 2021-02-16 · ·

A pump with two independent motors is disclosed. The first motor is mechanically connected to a first rotor comprising a first plurality of teeth radiating from the center of the first rotor. The second motor is mechanically connected to a second rotor comprising a second plurality of teeth radiating from the center of the first rotor, wherein the first plurality of teeth meshes with the second plurality of teeth. A sealed case may house the first and second rotors, and the case may include a suction inlet and a pressure outlet. Rotating the rotors propels a liquid from the suction inlet to the pressure outlet. Because the motors are independent of each other, when one motor fails to rotate the other motor will rotate both rotors and maintain the propelling liquid from the suction inlet to the pressure outlet. The pump may be a gear pump or a rotary lobe pump.

Reversible gerotor pump system

A reversible gerotor pump system is provided. The gerotor pump system includes a cylindrical housing with a 180 slot, an eccentric ring with a locking pin fixed thereto and movably engaged in the slot; an outer rotor and inner rotor with meshed teeth, and shaft for driving inner rotor and system. The eccentric ring has a convex profile on the outer diameter. A positive contact system, which can be a spring-and-plunger system or frictional disc brake system is provided to increase frictional force between the eccentric ring and the outer rotor. The locking pin moves in the slot with clearance at both rotation directions to provide a self-damping effect. The suction port has prolongations at both upstream and the downstream sides to increase filling time such that the pump can have a fill speed of above 5000 rpm, and the volumetric efficiency is at least 90% at 5000 rpm.

Lubrication strategy for dry run pump system

A gerotor pump assembly, and a system and method for operating a gerotor pump assembly, result in a lubrication strategy for operating in a loss-of-prime mode. An inner drive gear may be rotated in a first direction and in a second opposite direction about an axis of rotation. The inner drive gear has a number of projections extending outwardly therefrom. An outer driven gear surrounds the inner drive gear and defines a number of recessions along an inner surface configured to engage with the projections of the inner drive gear. The outer driven gear and the inner drive gear further define at least one dynamically-changing fluid cavity therebetween. The inner drive gear and the outer driven gear define an oil transfer volume clearance between a projection and a recession in a fully engaged position. Oil is maintained within the oil transfer volume clearance as the inner drive gear is rotated.

A pump includes a rotor, a pump housing, and a blocking device. The rotor is rotatable about a rotation axis and comprises a rotor hub and a rotor collar that extends from the rotor hub in a radial direction and encircles the rotor hub in an undulating manner. The pump housing forms a pump duct with the rotor. The pump duct connects a first inlet/outlet space to a second inlet/outlet space. The blocking device is arranged between the first and second inlet/outlet spaces and comprises a blocking element that blocks the pump duct in an axial direction on both sides of the rotor collar. The blocking device has first and second seats for the blocking element. A spacing between the first and second seats in a circumferential direction is greater than the spacing between first and second contacting faces of the blocking element in the circumferential direction.
