Epitrochoidal type compressor

A rotary piston compressor is disclosed, comprising a housing having an epitrochoidal shaped inner bore, peripheral inlet and exhaust ports located in the bore, and a rotary piston rotatably mounted within the housing. The central portion of each rotary piston flank is configured such that, at the closest point between the flank central portion and the housing between the exhaust port of the trailing compression cycle and the inlet port of the leading compression cycle, the radial spacing between the rotary piston flank and the housing is maintained such that the volumes enclosed by the rotary piston on either side of the closest point in the respective trailing and leading compression cycles are substantially sealed from one another. The end portions of each rotary piston flank are configured such that radial spacing between the rotary piston flank and the housing exceeds that between the central portion and the housing.

Vacuum pump

A vacuum pump for supplying a machine assembly with negative pressure, the vacuum pump including a housing featuring a delivery chamber which includes a chamber inlet opening and a chamber outlet opening for a gaseous fluid; a suction port for establishing a fluid connection to the machine assembly; a suction channel which connects the delivery chamber to the suction port; and a relief channel which connects the delivery chamber to a relief opening of the housing; a delivery member which can rotate in the delivery chamber in a forward rotational direction and a reverse rotational direction. The fluid is suctioned into the delivery chamber through the chamber inlet opening and discharged through the chamber outlet opening by rotating the delivery member in the forward rotational direction.

MULTI-STAGE VACUUM BOOSTER PUMP ROTOR
20190368487 · 2019-12-05 ·

A rotor for a multi-stage vacuum pump, a multi-stage vacuum pump and a method. The rotor comprises: a plurality of rotary vanes, the plurality of rotary vanes being axially displaced and coaxially aligned; a pair of end shafts, each end shaft extending from opposing axial ends of the plurality of rotary vanes; and an inter-vane shaft extending between adjacent rotary vanes of the plurality of rotary vanes, the inter-vane shaft having a diameter which is greater than that of the end shafts. In this way, the inter-vane shaft provided between each rotary vane may have an increased diameter, which improves the stiffness of the shaft and changes the modal frequency of the rotor. Such a change in the modal frequency is typically sufficient to improve its operation.
