Gear pump that removes air from pumped oil

A gear pump can be equipped in an engine oil system. The gear pump has a housing, a first gear, and a second gear. The housing has an outlet passage for exiting oil, and has one or more outlet openings for exiting air. The first gear has a set of first teeth with multiple first roots and first tips. The second gear has a set of second teeth with multiple second roots and second tips. The outlet opening(s) is situated in the housing so that it can communicate with a first clearance, with a second clearance, or with both the first and second clearances. The first clearance is established at the confrontation of one of the first roots and one of the second tips. And the second clearance is established at the confrontation of one of the second roots and one of the first tips.

Energy transfer machine for corrosive fluids

An internal gear pump or motor includes inner and outer rotors that mesh together. An internal electric motor or generator may include a stator supported by a support element that passes through bearings of the outer rotor and the inner rotor may act as a rotor of the electric motor or generator. With or without the stator, the support element may support bearings of the inner rotor. The support element may be, for example, an eccentric shaft. Fluids may be supplied via the support element, if present, for cooling, lubrication or to flush a working fluid out of portions of the pump or motor, such as bearings. Flushing may also occur via channels in the housing with or without the presence of the support element. Axial faces of one of a pair of adjacent elements, for example the inner rotor and the outer rotor, may include portions for improved axial sealing and wearing in of the other of the pair. Fluid may enter and exit chambers between the inner and outer rotors by radial ports.

Methods for extracting hydrocarbon gas utilize a vacuum chamber with a mud chamber portion that is expandable and contractible. Gas is extracted at vacuum pressures.

Subsea multiphase pump or compressor with magnetic coupling and cooling or lubrication by liquid or gas extracted from process fluid

A submersible fluid system for operating submersed in a body of water includes an electric machine and a fluid-end. The fluid-end includes a fluid-end housing having an inlet to a fluid rotor, the fluid rotor coupled to the electric machine and carried to rotate in the housing by a bearing in the housing. A fluid separator system receives a multiphase fluid and communicates a flow of the fluid to the inlet and a substantially liquid flow extracted from the multiphase fluid to the bearing.

Method of converting liquid ring pumps having sealing liquid vents

A conical member for a pump head of a liquid ring pump, the conical member including a body, the body defining a first body opening on a first end positioned to abut a first pump opening, a second body opening on the first end positioned to abut a second pump opening, and a port. The conical member further includes a radially outer lip arranged about the first end and positioned to abut a pump aperture. A sealing liquid introduction path is arranged to introduce sealing liquid to a working chamber, the sealing liquid introduction path arranged at least partially between the second body opening and an outlet, and a gas vent passage is arranged to vent gas from the working chamber, the gas vent passage arranged at least partially between the port and the first body opening.

Port plate of a flat sided liquid ring pump having a gas scavenge passage therein

A liquid ring pump includes a planar port plate having first and second planar walls, a sidewall which defines a shaft receiving aperture, an inlet, and an outlet. An opening is formed in the port plate and includes an open end that extends through the sidewall and an open face that extends through the first planar wall. A rotor shaft is rotatable about a central axis and is positioned such that a portion of the rotor shaft extends into the shaft receiving aperture. An aperture is formed in the port plate and positioned substantially opposite the opening. The opening, a space defined between the rotor shaft and the sidewall, and the aperture, cooperate to define a channel that extends between a first side of the shaft receiving aperture and a second side of the shaft receiving aperture, wherein the channel is formed entirely coplanar with the port plate.
