Rotary Machine With Pressure Relief Mechanism
20210062655 · 2021-03-04 ·

A rotary machine, for directing a quantity of fluid from an inlet to an outlet, comprises one or more elliptical or near-elliptical rotors having planetary rotation within a housing. The interior cavity of the housing comprises an inverse apex region that is in contact with the rotor during its rotation. In various embodiments the rotor and housing can be symmetric or asymmetric in cross-section. Features are described that can improve the operation of the machine for various end-use applications. Such features include cut-outs that are fluidly connected to the inlet or outlet ports of the machine, mechanisms for reducing variation in output flow rate from the rotary machine, linings for the interior cavity of the housing, pressure relief mechanisms, dynamic apex seals and other sealing mechanisms.

Anti-locking mechanism of spherical compressor rotor

An anti-locking mechanism of a spherical compressor rotor, an anti-locking power mechanism of a spherical compressor, and a spherical compressor. A pin boss is fixedly arranged on a turntable shaft, and guide pins are movably connected with a guide sleeve. A concave slideway is arranged in a cylinder block spherical surface or a cylinder lower spherical surface, and is distributed along a sliding track of the guide sleeve on the corresponding cylinder block spherical surface or cylinder lower spherical surface in a rotation process of a turntable. A main shaft rotates and drives the turntable. When the turntable rotates to a position at which a turntable axis and a piston axis are superposed, the turntable can continue to rotate around the turntable axis by means of torque obtained by the guide pin from the concave slideway, and thus a problem of a dead point of movement of a spherical compressor rotor is solved. Because the concave slideway is arranged outside a spherical working cylinder of a spherical compressor, the sealing effect is good.

Compressor

A compressor having a torque load reducing unit to move a center of weight to which a gas force is applied is provided. As the torque load reducing unit is formed at an oval-shaped roller, a distance between a rotation center of the roller and an operation point to which a gas force is applied is shortened. This may reduce a torque load to the roller, and may enhance a compression efficiency.

Scroll compressor with improved scroll curves

A scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll including a fixed mirror-like surface and a fixed wrap that is extended from the fixed mirror-like surface, formed in a hybrid curve, and includes a thick portion thicker than other portions; an orbiting scroll including an orbiting mirror-like surface and an orbiting wrap extended from the orbiting mirror-like surface and formed in a hybrid curve; and a rotating shaft configured to rotate the orbiting scroll, wherein the orbiting scroll revolves relative to the fixed scroll. A center of a curve of a center portion of the fixed wrap is located at a position offset by a predetermined distance in a direction of reducing a thickness of the thick portion of the fixed wrap from a center of the fixed mirror-like surface, and a center of a curve of a center portion of the orbiting wrap is offset to correspond to the fixed wrap.

Rotary Machines With Teardrop-Shaped Rotors

Rotary positive displacement machines can include a rotor having a teardrop-shaped profile that undergoes planetary motion relative to a stator having an elliptical or near-elliptical profile. In some embodiments, these rotary positive displacement machines can be used for a variety of applications including as positive displacement pumps. In some embodiments the rotor and stator are helical. In some embodiments the rotor comprises a dynamic seal. Aspects of the machine geometry can be selected to provide operational and/or durability benefits.

An impeller is attached to a rotary shaft provided in an inner space of a housing and includes a tube fixed to the rotary shaft and a plurality of blades protruding toward an outer diameter direction from the tube. A tip of each blade is in slidable contact with an inner peripheral surface of the housing. Each blade has a shape curved toward a rotation-direction rear side of the rotary shaft in a free state and includes an extension surface on a rotation-direction front side of the rotary shaft and a compression surface on the rotation-direction rear side of the rotary shaft. A curvature radius of a root on the compression surface in the blade is formed larger than a curvature radius of a root on the extension surface in the blade.

Sealing in rotary positive displacement machines based on trochoidal geometry that comprise a helical rotor that undergoes planetary motion within a helical stator is described. Seals can be mounted on the rotor, the stator, or both. The rotor can have a hypotrochoidal cross-section, with the corresponding stator cavity profile being the outer envelope of the rotor as it undergoes planetary motion, or the stator cavity can have an epitrochoidal cross-section with the corresponding rotor profile being the inner envelope of the trochoid as it undergoes planetary motion. In some embodiments, the geometry is offset in a manner that provides advantages with respect to sealing in the rotary machine. In multi-stage embodiments, the rotor-stator geometry remains substantially constant or varies along the axis of the rotary machine.
