09719523 · 2017-08-01 · ·

An apparatus, system and method for pumping gaseous fluid are described. The centrifugal pump of the invention homogenizes at least a portion of the gas and liquid contained in produced well fluid thereby improving the efficiency of the pump in electric submersible pump (ESP) applications and decreasing the downtime of the ESP system. The impeller of the invention comprises an increased inlet area. The centrifugal pump of the invention comprises a single shroud located on the bottom side of an impeller, an increased inlet area of the impeller and an increased clearance gap between the impeller and a diffuser. One or more truncated vanes extend substantially upstream from the single shroud, wherein each truncated vane sits at a mid-pitch location between untruncated vanes starting from the bottom side of the impeller.

Device and method for operating parallel centrifugal pumps

A device and a method for operating multiple centrifugal pumps are disclosed. The device can include a communication interface for receiving as at least one input information, an instantaneous pressure drop and an instantaneous flow rate per pump or speed of the centrifugal pumps, and for transmitting output information to the centrifugal pumps, where the output information reflects a reference value for the number of centrifugal pumps to be operated in parallel. The device can contain a data storage unit and a processing unit, which determine from input information and additional information an instantaneous efficiency, a first expected efficiency under the assumption that the actual number is reduced by one, and a second expected efficiency under the assumption that the actual number is increased by one, and which can generate the reference value depending on which of the instantaneous or first expected or second expected efficiencies has a highest value.

Rotary device having a radial magnetic coupling

Rotary devices having a casing and an inner drive portion of a magnet coupling disposed inside of a rotor assembly are disclosed. The inner drive portion and rotor assembly are disposed within the casing and rotatable about a rotational axis. The rotor assembly includes a bushing between the magnets of the rotor assembly and a stationary canister is sealed to the casing and separates an internal fluid chamber within the casing from the inner driven portion. The stationary canister can be of multi-piece or unitary construction and is held in position by a front portion of the casing.

Self-priming centrifugal pump

A pump with high performance and cleanability includes a casing having a smaller volute and a larger volute; a space between an outer circumference of an impeller and a starting end of the smaller volute being greater than that of the larger volute, generating a circulating flow of self-priming water from the smaller volute to the larger volute; and a diffusing part of the larger volute being formed into an upright, cylindrical self-priming water separating chamber guiding the self-priming water from the smaller volute to flow in for air-water separation. An inner circumference part of the casing is formed concentric with the outer circumference of the impeller with a predetermined space therebetween; defining members are protrusively disposed on the inner circumference part of the casing so as to define the shapes of the two volutes; and the self-priming water separating chamber is made attachable to and detachable from the casing.
