The invention relates to a mobile pump system for pumping water and/or extinguishing agent and an associated method therefor. The mobile pump system comprises:

a frame for housing the pump system;

a booster pump arranged in the frame;

one or more submersible pumps arranged in the frame;

a booster pump motor drive configured to drive the booster pump;

a hydraulics motor drive configured to drive the one or more submersible pumps and wherein the hydraulics motor drive is configured to function as auxiliary drive for the booster pump; and

a coupling for coupling the booster pump to the hydraulics motor drive such that the hydraulics motor drive can function as auxiliary drive for the booster pump.

A heavy working liquid flows from the upper ends of the buoyancy conduits and is fed into the upper end of the elongated gravitational distribution conduit. Working liquid flows down the elongated gravitational distribution conduit to actuate the liquid turbine system. An injection of refrigerant gas into the working liquid in the plural elongated buoyancy conduits induces upward flow of the working liquid. The system includes a solar thermal heating system fluidically coupled to heat exchangers that transfer heat collected by the solar thermal heating system to the working liquid through a thermal transfer fluid circuit.

A pump configuration includes a single VFD configuration, the single shaft electric motor, and the single shaft hydraulic pump mounted on the single pump trailer. The single VFD configuration converts the electric power at the power generation voltage level distributed from the power distribution trailer to a VFD voltage level and drives the single shaft electric motor to control the operation of the single shaft electric motor and the single hydraulic pump. The VFD voltage level is a voltage level that is required to drive the single shaft electric motor. The VFD configuration also controls operation of the auxiliary systems based on the electric power at the auxiliary voltage level.

Each of the input ports is configured for connection to a high-pressure line for delivering a high-pressure fluid from a pump to the conduit. The input ports are angled such that, when connected to a high-pressure line, high-pressure fluid flowing through the input ports merges with the fluid in the conduit generally in the same direction of travel as the fluid in the conduit.
