Precision Delivery of Angularly Separate Beams of Energy Utilizing Holographic Energy Teleportation (HET) with Time-Correlated Standing-Wave Interference and Coherent Intensity Amplification
By producing the proper wave interference using superimposed angularly separate waves that overlap with the proper time-phase relationship (called “Time-Correlated Standing-wave Interference”), wave energy is amplified (by “Coherent Intensity Amplification”) and teleported to precise locations. For instance, in one application, energy is teleported to one or more areas within a living body for such therapeutic applications as destroying cancer cells or plaques within arteries. A system implementing this technique creates amplified constructive interference at one or more selected disease locations, while producing destructive interference at surrounding locations. In this application example, the technique allows energy to be “teleported” to tumor cells, plaques, or other diseased cells, for instance, to destroy them, while surrounding healthy cells receive virtually no energy, obviating collateral damage from the treatment. The same method can be used to diagnose disease by detecting energy teleported to different locations.
Method and apparatus for estimating temperature in a body
The invention relates a method and an apparatus of predicting or planning a temperature distribution (52) in a body. The method comprises the steps of: a) obtaining a model of the body (50) related to a temperature transport mechanism or temperature distribution (52) in the body; b) simulating an application of heat to at least a part of the body such as targeted tissue; c) determining and/or predicting the temperature (52) or heat distribution in at least a part of the body using the model of the body (50).
Pressure sensitive tissue treatment device
Methods and devices for treating nasal airways are provided. Such devices and methods may improve airflow through an internal and/or external nasal valve, and comprise the use of mechanical re-shaping, energy application and other treatments to modify the shape, structure, and/or air flow characteristics of an internal nasal valve, an external nasal valve or other nasal airways.
Device and method for unattended treatment of a patient
An unattended approach can increase the reproducibility and safety of the treatment as the chance of over/under treating of a certain area is significantly decreased. On the other hand, unattended treatment of uneven or rugged areas can be challenging in terms of maintaining proper distance or contact with the treated tissue, mostly on areas which tend to differ from patient to patient (e.g. facial area). Delivering energy via a system of active elements embedded in a flexible pad adhesively attached to the skin offers a possible solution. The unattended approach may include delivering of multiple energies to enhance a visual appearance.
DEVICE INCLUDING RF SOURCE OF ENERGY AND VACUUM SYSTEM
A method of soft tissue treatment of a patient includes placing an applicator onto a surface of the soft tissue, with the applicator including an electrode and a dielectric material vacuum cup. The soft tissue is heated via the electrode. Vacuum is applied to the vacuum cup. The electrode may be at least partially covered by a dielectric material of variable thickness.
Method for controlling flow in a bodily organ
There is provided a method for treating a male impotent patient comprising stimulating at least one portion of the patient's normal penile tissue or the prolongation thereof to at least restrict the blood flow leaving the penis to achieve erection. To improve the erection effect the method further comprises gently constricting the penile portion or the prolongation thereof to restrict the venous blood flow in the penile portion, and then stimulating the constricted penile portion to cause contraction of the penile portion to at least further restrict the blood flow leaving the penis to achieve erection.
THERMAL COMPLIANCE IN A HEATED DEVICE
Systems and methods to determine an indication of patient compliance are disclosed, including detect temperature information associated with a treatment device comprising a therapy component including at least one of an electrical therapy component or a thermal therapy component configured to apply a treatment at the treatment location and determining the indication of patient compliance using the received temperature information occurring over a first period.
